Stayed here two nights while touring Nice and Monaco. The hotel is truly unique. Done in a white motif with large horse sculptures in the lobby (that also has a pool table and grand piano in it), it has a good location but too many disappointing and bizarre features to make it work for the traveler.
While the lobby is bright the rest of the hotel has a darkness to it. The hall ways are lit with blue lights that offer poor illumination. The fitness center is dingy and very poorly equipped -- so bad that I didn't use it on our second day. While they have a fascinating pool, it is an example of "interesting but not inviting".
Our rooms on the first floor were large but badly designed. There is NO privacy for the shower from the rest of the room. No way to close off the bathroom except the toilet area. I guess management feels their offering of 16 different shampoos, conditioners, and body lotions will make up for this or their offering of six different kinds of nuts......these are examples of just some of the misjudgments.The beds are very average in quality and not comfortable. There is WiFi and high ceilings though....some comfort -- perhaps.....We were travelling with adult children and even they found the whole thing lame.

While breakfast was included in our rate, the restaurant has a limited buffet and if you want to order any type of egg other than the runny scrambled eggs offered -- it is 10 Euros extra for two eggs (but at least they are any style -- sic--- really 10 euros for two eggs when they have a breakfast offering!!!!)

The staff at the front desk tried but was only modestly knowledgeable about the area's restaurant choices. There is no Concierge so the Front Desk team tries to fill that gap.
And here is another kicker, someone in the facility each morning we were there felt the need to vacuum some common area at 5:45 AM for at least 20 minutes --- bad idea and not very guest sensitive.Couple this with the housekeeping staff leaving their large carts in the walk way of your floor for long periods of time and you get the impression you -- the guest -- are in the staff's way.

So, unless you want to stay in a weird place just for the sake of it.....save your money and find another place in Nice.

Room Tip: go as high up as possible --- if you go.

We have seen that you have appreciated several aspects of the hotel, such as our lobby and our location, for which we would like to thank you.
Effectively the concept of some of our room are with an open space bathroom (with a separate toilet/bidet which can be closed with a sliding door), this the way the architect has imagined the space in some rooms however we do have rooms with a separate bathroom on demand, next time please feel free to inquire about these rooms.

With regards to our breakfast we offer an extensive hot and cold American buffet with a wide variety of cheeses, salads, fresh fruits, ham, salmon and of course bread and pastries, we also serve scramble eggs with bacon and sausages. Regarding the price, selling our buffet breakfast at 24 Euro per person, it seams quite fair for us to ask a supplement for other extras.

Concerning the noise that you heard in the early morning outside your room, we would like to apologize. We are going to investigate which kind of noise you have encountered, as our housekeeping service starts working at around 9am leaving vacuum cleaning for the later hours. Nevertheless we take your comment very serious and please be assured that we will make sure such noise will not occur again. We assure you, that guests are for us the priority and in no circumstances we consider them “in the staff's way”.

We regret that this aspect on your opinion decrease our rating, anyhow we hope that you will have the opportunity to return and experience the changes in the future.

We stayed for 6 days at this hotel, the entrance lobby is very lovely, but the bedrooms are strange, all white but they have no comfortable chairs. Some bedrooms have the bathrooms open in the bedroom, not the nicest way to take a shower etc, the bathrooms do not have any real privacy or sound proofing
The junior suite again all in white, was lacking in any comfortable seating, it was almost empty, taking the idea of minimal to the extreme, Lighting in the bedroom area was poor, making reading when it was dark outside impossible, resulting in having to ask for additional lights to be brought in, which lead to another problem, lack of electric outlets, so that we could not plug in computer, ipod mobile phone and have the extra lights.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, but service slow, The bedrooms cleaning was not good for a 5 star hotel, twice the bedrooms were not cleaned at 4 pm, not the type of service expected in this expensive upmarket hotel
All in all, not a 5 star hotel, although the location was excellent. The staff at the front desk never smiled or acknowledge us, and there is no concierge, so dont rely on the staff at the desk for correct information, as were frequently given poor directions and advice.

With regards to the comfortable seating in the room, we have assigned you a Junior Suite with a free upgrade due to a leak problem in the bathroom of your original room, assigning the Junior Suite number #516 was due to your request to have a high floor with separate shower cabin, we do have other Junior Suites, at lower floors with large and comfortable leather sofas. Concerning your comment on the reading lights we have effectively to improve the lighting in some of the rooms as in others there are already available, if you would have asked the housekeeping during your stay of seven nights we would certainly provide you one of these. Each side of the bed provides one electric outlet for mobile phones and your junior suite was equipped with an ipod dock.

We agree that it is not acceptable that the front desk staff did not acknowledge you and that you were not given the entire information that you required as well as for the housekeeping which has cleaned your room too late. We would like to apologize for this inconvenience and please be assured, that we will brief our staff to make sure that such situations won’t repeat themselves.

Stayed here at the deluxe room (the premium room we originally reserved was not ready when we arrived, so we upgraded for a small fee) with a friend. View wasn't spectacular, prob should have asked for the front view. Room was clean and neat, and shower was built on the side of the room so even with no screen, it wasn't at the middle of the room. Staff are friendly and was always courteous to recommend restaurants and directions. My main problem here is how slow the service is. After we came into the room, we were told our luggages will arrive in 2 mins. That turned out to be a 30 minute wait with 3 phone calls, should have taken the luggage up ourselves! Called housekeeping for a dental kit, after 2 calls and 40 mins wait, it never came. Not sure if the problem is understaffing, lack of hospitality training, or general reflection of hospitality to non French speakers....but have never experienced this in our hotel stays worldwide.

Just arrived back from a short super break to Nice, Cannes and Monaco. First impressions were fantastic, with polite doorman, friendly and attentive reception staff and a majestic modern lobby.

The room (112) was of a high standard that was spotlessly clean with a modern feel. With free fast wifi, an array of toiletries, bathrobes and kingsize bed, made our stay very comfortable. To our surprise, staff left a bottle on ice and amazing macarons to celebrate our special occasion-thank you!! Furthermore, the spa is a good way to relax after a day visiting all the major spots.

The location is great for the centre of the promenade, restaurants (old town is the place for food) and shops. In addition, it is only a short walk (6-8mins) to the station to visit Monaco etc.

Overall,we had a super stay in a great hotel. We recommend this hotel highly and look forward to hopefully staying at the Boscolo Exedra in the near future.

We stayed here for 7 nights. We had a really nice room which was very clean and bright. The service was great throughout our trip.

The hotel is located a short distance from the beach and old town.

We would definitely return.
