We spent a couple of nights at Hotel Victorine - room was small but air conditioned, the hosts were great. One spoke very good English and was extremely helpful. We borrowed 2 bikes and went up to the old city - the "eat street", market mecca of Nice. I thought it was value for the money - parking is out in the street and you cannot get in to your room until 5pm (I think they should change that back to 3pm). Breakfast was available if required and it is a nice walk to the water.
