This hotel is in the perfect spot for the old town and the other attractions are also nearby. Its on a busy street full of places to eat and bars so is right in the heart of the action. The room was a decent size, basic but clean and we had a lovely balcony which was a great addition. The bathroom was an ok size too and also very clean. The staff were really friendly too (but be sure you ring/email if you will be arriving late like us as there's a number of combinations for different doors to get in).The only problems we had were the room was quite noisy at night, you could hear conversations in the next room and the carpets were really tough meaning you would have to leave your shoes on in the room to walk comfortably (sounds weird but you will know what i mean when you arrive!) All in all a good choice for central Nice.

We had a lovely big room with a terrace that had amazing views over the beautiful streets. The noise outside was never a problem even though it was overlooking a busy street. However, the noise in the hotel from other rooms was a little annoying as it meant you could not lay in as the walls were too thin! I suppose this is not a problem if you are want to get up early!

The room itself was perfect for all our needs although carpet was uncomfortable to walk on so i suggest flipflops/slippers. Hair dryer was available although the toiletries provided were very basic but for the price you just can't complain. You can ask for a kettle in your room with plates, knives and forks, etc so you can make use of the fridge.....we filled it with cheese, hams and of course wine from the local shop.

The hotel staff were fantastic and left you to your own devices unless you asked them for anything which in that case could not be more helpful. Note though If you want traditional french restaurants you will need to book which the reception are more than happy to do for you.

As in all the other comments do note that the elevator only takes 2 guests with hand luggage at a max, but we found it quite cosy and part of the experience of not being in a commercial hotel.

The only reason we did not give this 5 stars was because of the noise in the morning!

Room Tip: Room 11 is one of the bigger rooms with a great balcony overlooking the street. Not good for people...

5 of us have just returned from staying at the Solara, and we will definitely return. We had a room each, on the 5th floor, so we all had a terrace. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and the bathrooms new. The staff are extra helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The Hotel is easy to get to from the airport by bus, and is right in the town, and near to the Promenade des Anglais.

Room Tip: choose a 5th floor room to get a balcony. number 14 has a huge one.

Had a nice, big room with a huge balcony overlooking the walking street. The bathroom was new and spacious, too.

Friendy owner, able to give you the necessary information that you need for a pleasant stay.

The location is very good as it is just at the walking street and everything is in walking distance. The location was very silent at night, so do not be aware of this issue.

We were very happy when we arrived at Hotel Solara, we did not expect to be so close to the beach and shopping. We easily explored old town and surrounding area by walking. It is reasonably close to train station also. There are many restaurants in the area also. The elevator is quite small but works for when you have luggage to transport. It was out of order the morning we were leaving but the gentleman at the desk insisted on helping us down the stairs. The room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel is on the top floor of the building and access is by a tiny lift, so cases might have to be taken up in relays.
The staff were all helpful and charming. The room was clean and comfortable with a balcony on which we ate breakfast. As we don't care to eat much in the mornings we ordered coffee and orange juice only at a reduced price, which was no problem.
We would certainly recommend the Solara to anyone staying in Nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony.

It's a 2 stars hotel, so don't expect much. The room is tiny but somewhat clean. The shower is super tiny even for a small petite woman like me, I can't imagine how a 200+ lbs. person would be able to move around. Our room has a balcony looking out to the Rue de France which is very nice, the door is sound proof so you won't hear a thing once shut. The location is super, close to the tramway, and bus stops, 5 minutes walk to old town, and especially only 1 block from the beach. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and near by grocery store.

It's a 2 stars hotel but customer service is of 5 stars. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place
