“Travel cheap in a very chic style”
Reviewed 14 March 2013

Im usually very reluctant to book 2* hotels (especially in countries like France) but this little find turned out to be just everything I needed for my romantic Valentine's escape.

INTERIOR DESIGN
We had a superior room no. 5 at the end of the corridor to the left. It was quite spacious but the bathroom was very tiny - it had cosmetic amenities, towels, a hairdryer. Clean and smartly decorated in a Shabby chic french style. There's a small DELL laptop available for use - a very nice idea. It had a balcony overlooking the main street. The wardrobe was also tiny.

SERVICE
The couple that runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Ms Agnieszka to my surprise, speaks Polish - a good plus for Polish tourists with no French language skills. She had also recommended us a fantastic restaurant.

FOOD
There's breakfast service available for 7€.

PRICES We paid 75€ per room per night. It's really worth the money. I looked for a long time for a hotel at the beach and got quite scared by the look and the reviews of major 4 and 3* hotels. I was surprised that LPT has only 2* because most 2* are nowhere near its' standard. Maybe it's due to the lack of the usual hotel amenities like minibar, 24hr reception, etc. that we didn't miss at all. Free wifi, with changeable performance - works better closer to the reception.

LOCATION It's a little gem, the location is just perfect. It's a 3min walk to the main square Place Massena, the beach and the main street. About 10mins walk to the old town. It's situated on the second floor of a beautiful building on a pedestrians-only street with very luxurious shops like Chanel, MaxMara, Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani. There's a small charming square adjacent to it with cafes and bars. Just because of its location the hotel could easily charge a double price. Instead, it's a very pleasant surprise.

OVERALL It's really worth the money spent and I'm sure that it's a much smarter choice than paying over a 100€ for a nasty room in a 4*. I love places like that because they keep low prices instead of following other hotel's philosophy "who cares, the city is so famous that the tourists will come regardless of the standard we provide". To be definitely recommended. Some of the rooms can "almost" claim a seaview from their balconies - a feature you will pay extra 50€ in other hotels. Good job and carry on with the low room rates!

Room Tip: Room 5. was spacious with a balcony, but a tiny bathroom.

I visited this hotel when I was in Nice for my holidays with my mates. The location is perfect, very close to old town and the beach. The room was very nice and comfortable, with small kitchen and modern bathroom. My room had also a small balcony with a beautiful seaside’s view. The service was excellent , very nice and helpful people. We really enjoyed it. I’m sure if we will back to Nice we will choose this hotel again.

Le Petit Trianon is in a central position on the pedestrian only luxury shopping strip- close the shops, restaurants and a short walk to the beach and Old Nice. Our room was of a good size and comfortable. We were located at the end of the corridor and found the wifi to be very slow and a bit frustrating but in the reception area it was good. The balcony overlooking the street was great and would be so lovely in the summer months. Overall the hotel was good value for money but probably more suited to shorter stays.
Note- the hotel is up a few flights of stairs with no lifts and you aren't able to get taxis from our the front as it is pedestrian only so if you have a lot of luggage or are less able keep this in mind.

I stayed here in April 2012 with my partner and loved this hotel. The rooms are small but perfectly formed. The price was very reasonable and the location was perfect, right in the centre of Nice and within walking distance from many of the attractions. We got the bus from the airport which stops a 5 min walk from the hotel. The owners are very friendly and emailed us the day before to check our time of arrival to ensure someone was there to check us in! Would highly recommend staying here.

The location of Hotel le Petit Trianon is perfect. You can get anywhere in the city you would like.
However the rooms are very, very small. I believe our room was number 6 (all the way at the end of the hall on the right). There were two of us and once in the room we realized we had no room to open our bags unless on the bed. The shower is also as "petit" as the room. Stand up only with half circle closure. No shaving your legs in there.
The wifi was super convenient.

Room Tip: #5 seemed to be the largest. Last on the left away from the reception.

Stayed at one of the studio apartments in September after spending a weekend in their B&B downstairs in June. Le Petit Trianon is in a great location minutes from the seafront, a short walk to the centre of the city and on a lovely side street of very posh shops! The apartment was clean, and well stocked with all the required supplies need in a holiday apartment. I particulary liked sitting on the balcony watching Nice go by in the sunshine and would definitely stay at Hotel le Petit Trianon again.

An excellent little hotel on the 2nd floor of an apartment block near the Albert 1e gardens. My room (#1) was small, but well equipped. I stayed here while attending a conference - it was half the price of the conference hotel (which was round the corner) and had free WiFi (as well as a small netbook available to use in the room).

Pros: great location, free WiFi, good shower, flatscreen TV.
Cons: bed was very narrow, curtains/shutters didn't do a good job of keeping light out, room was cold unless you left heater on all night

Room Tip: Room 1 (single room) is right next to the reception, but the hotel is quiet so I wasn't disturbe...
