Im usually very reluctant to book 2* hotels (especially in countries like France) but this little find turned out to be just everything I needed for my romantic Valentine's escape.
We had a superior room no. 5 at the end of the corridor to the left. It was quite spacious but the bathroom was very tiny - it had cosmetic amenities, towels, a hairdryer. Clean and smartly decorated in a Shabby chic french style. There's a small DELL laptop available for use - a very nice idea. It had a balcony overlooking the main street. The wardrobe was also tiny.
The couple that runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Ms Agnieszka to my surprise, speaks Polish - a good plus for Polish tourists with no French language skills. She had also recommended us a fantastic restaurant.
There's breakfast service available for 7€.
PRICES We paid 75€ per room per night. It's really worth the money. I looked for a long time for a hotel at the beach and got quite scared by the look and the reviews of major 4 and 3* hotels. I was surprised that LPT has only 2* because most 2* are nowhere near its' standard. Maybe it's due to the lack of the usual hotel amenities like minibar, 24hr reception, etc. that we didn't miss at all. Free wifi, with changeable performance - works better closer to the reception.
LOCATION It's a little gem, the location is just perfect. It's a 3min walk to the main square Place Massena, the beach and the main street. About 10mins walk to the old town. It's situated on the second floor of a beautiful building on a pedestrians-only street with very luxurious shops like Chanel, MaxMara, Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani. There's a small charming square adjacent to it with cafes and bars. Just because of its location the hotel could easily charge a double price. Instead, it's a very pleasant surprise.
OVERALL It's really worth the money spent and I'm sure that it's a much smarter choice than paying over a 100€ for a nasty room in a 4*. I love places like that because they keep low prices instead of following other hotel's philosophy "who cares, the city is so famous that the tourists will come regardless of the standard we provide". To be definitely recommended. Some of the rooms can "almost" claim a seaview from their balconies - a feature you will pay extra 50€ in other hotels. Good job and carry on with the low room rates!
