This hotel is not at all like the pictures. First of all, when we got there, the downstairs lock was broken and open, so anyone could walk in off the street. This was especially scary when we (as 2 young girls) came back late that night and there was no light by the staircase, so any creep could've been lurking around. The room was so small you couldnt walk without banging into something, the bathroom didn't even have a real door, and smelled REALLY strange- like mildew and old lettuce. The sheets were clean, thank god. There is a good Wifi connection and the close proximity to the beach are about the only things I liked about this place. Otherwise, it was super dingy and not a value for the money.

It is difficult to answer 5 years later but this comment is always online and we are very sorry to read such a bad experience.
We can deplore it and reassuring in the name of the present manager (as can attest our clients) : in Hotel Lido we make our best to satisfy our customers. A person is also present at night, the light is automatic in corridors, doors are closed and there are codes to enter the hotel for the best safety requirements. We take lot of care of the cleanliness of the rooms. That is reason why a label has been awarded us a few days ago.

Nous le déplorons et pouvons rassurer au nom de l'actuelle responsable qu'à l'Hotel Lido, nous faisons de notre mieux pour satisfaire nos clients. Une personne est présente la nuit, le couloir s'éclaire automatiquement, les portes se ferment et il y a des codes d'accès pour répondre à toutes les exigences de sécurité. Nous sommes très attachés à la propreté des chambres. Ce qui nous a valu un label décerné il y a quelques jours

We arrived, as previously arranged, around 10.30pm due to late flight time. The door opens in response to door entry bell. Struggled into minute lift (one of us had to walk because of luggage) up to first floor. We were greeted by a dishevelled male in a narrow hall which doubled as reception. We had requested a courtyard room but were informed that the only room available was the one next to reception. The door was opened by the male to reveal twin beds with clumsily made beds with crumpled pillowcases looking as though they had just been vacated. It was at this point I remembered the review posted regarding bed bugs!! We expressed total dissatisfaction with the accommodation and asked if he had a better room with fresh linen on the beds. He became extremely agitated asking "What do you expect for this price?". Clean beds for one!
"Well you can leave, LEAVE, NOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT". We were totally shocked and asked him to leave us for a minute whilst we gathered ourselves. We decided there was no way we could sleep in the beds and left. The only way we could contact him was ringing the outside bell again. When he eventually responded my sister climbed back upstairs to give him the keys to find him in worse temper than before. We fled into the night at almost 11.30 to have to find alternative accommodation which we did after nearly an hour of dragging our luggage through the streets. We preferred to do that than spend a night in this psycho-like hotel. I am still trying to get a refund on my credit card because I was charged for one night. Venere Hotels were not able to assist. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The new owner was there to meet us as we had forwarned of our late arrival and was friendly , which was a good start , and the location was good, but that was all to be commended.
The room was dirty - we had to keep shoes as the tiled floor had a dirtly film, the blankets had hair in them, the shower had mould. The kitchenette was a plus, though it had a dirty sponge and tea towel to use.
We had to sleep with the window closed as it opened onto a courtyard that was at ground level and anyone could have entered.
No out-going calls could be made on the phone.
The satellite television had many channels that would not work.
We were readly to check out by 9am but no-one was on reception. We had also arrived back at 6.30pm the day before and there was no-one on reception then, or for the rest of the evening.
No credit card facilites for payment of bill.

Il nous est difficile de répondre en 2014 à un avis de 2008.
Seulement déplorer un tel accueil et rassurer en tant qu'actuelle responsable (comme peuvent en attester nombre de nos clients) que nous mettons tout en œuvre à l'hôtel Lido pour satisfaire notre clientèle. Les derniers investissements : Téléviseur à écran plat dans chaque chambre et climatisation centralisée dans tout l'établissement. Une personne est aussi présente la nuit. Tous les critères de sécurité sont réunis. Nous veillons aussi de très près à la propreté des chambres si bien qu'un label nous a été décerné il y a quelques jours.
