We travelled to Nice for the Monaco Grand Prix. From the airport buy a train ticket for the 98 bus. Cost 6 Euros. Get off at C.Grosso..about 5 or 6 stops from the airport. The bus drops you along the beach front. It is then about 10 min walk from there. Head for the Musee De Beau Arts. Le Villa Cygnes is run by a lovely couple, Remy and Benedict. They are very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The hotel is away from the main centre of Nice and is accessed by a long set of deep steps. The area is very quiet and residential. We stayed in room 4. It was painted white, had high celings, simple furnishings and patio doors leading to a small terrace. Everything was very clean, the bed comfortable and there were ample towels , a hairdryer and shower gel provided. There were even 2 pairs of slippers which was a nice touch. There was a large wardrobe which incorporated a safe. This was very useful for our passports/Euros (and Race tickets!). There was also a fridge which was very useful as we bought sandwiched and drinks to take on the train to Monaco with us.(reasonably priced in the local supermarkets) The terrace was a suntrap and even at 5.30 - 6pm (in May) the heat of the sun was still strong. It was lovely to relax there for a while after a hectic day in Monaco. We were up and out too early to sample the breakfast but I understand that this is served in the garden and is 12 Euros pp. We slept well, and peacefully. This is a nice hotel to base yourself in the peace and quiet. It is about 10 min walk to the main area / restaurants and about 20-25 minutes walk from the train station. Tip- Taxis are expensive. Walk or take the bus if you can. A 10 min (max) drive back to Nice airport was E29. However, after 9pm or before 7am it is E10 extra. Our flight was at 7am so we had to leave the hotel at 5.30am = E 39. it is a perfectly nice place to stay.

Stayed here for the Grand Prix weekend, chose this hotel based on the previous reviews, and we were not disappointed.
An excellent location an easy walk up from the bus from the airport. Very welcoming hosts who were very helpful, providing us with a helpful list of recommended restaurants to visit. Stayed in a lovely garden room, very quiet and restful. An excellent breakfast served in their garden with orange trees and palms.
An easy walk to the station to catch the train to Monaco for the Grand Prix.
Overall a really delightful hotel with charming hosts, we will certainly be back again.

My partner and I stayed at Benedicte and Remy's lovely villa for three nights over Easter and cannot wait to return! The villa is warm and welcoming and in a perfect position on a very quiet street to reach the Promenade. It is extremely clean and well appointed with our room being large and spacious with a lovely balcony which sadly we didn't get to use due to rain. We had a delicious breakfast every morning that is highly recommended with bread, cheese and fresh fruit from the garden, we couldn't wish for better hosts. Benedict and Remy are very welcoming, helpful, friendly and such lovely people that made our stay even more enjoyable. Stay here, you will love it!

This is a great B&B. We stayed here for two nights, and I had chosen it based on the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. We weren’t disappointed.

We came by car and it was a little difficult to find, but once we got there, there was a designated parking spot which was definitely useful in such a busy city. Needless to say, we didn’t need to use the car again during our stay; the B&B is in a great location, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the seafront/Promenade des Anglais.

The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive is the warmth and friendliness of the owners. They were smiling and helpful throughout the stay, and gave us a great little map to explore the city with. You can tell they love what they do.

The room was great – the little balcony was fantastic to sit out on, drinking wine. The room size is fantastic, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom really great, including double sinks and a very good shower. It was all impeccably clean. You can tell that they have really thought about everything you might need – for example, as well as the usual tea and coffee making facilities, they also left us a corkscrew, which was handy to take with us for our wine during picnics.

Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire time we were there, so we didn’t get to experience having breakfast outside, though the garden looked lovely. Breakfast was a lovely selection of fresh fruit salad (made with their own oranges from the garden), local speciality bread, croissants, yoghurt, cheese etc.

All in all, this is a great base for visiting Nice. The price is fantastic, and it would be hard to beat the location. The Old Town and Port are only about half an hour’s walk away – definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely 6-night stay at Villa Les Cygnes in September (great time to go, weather is perfect and there are not as many tourists). The house itself is beautiful and the hosts are very welcoming, helpful, and kind. Breakfast in the garden is a great French experience. The location is good as well - in a quiet, safe, and upscale neighborhood, with everything you need just a few blocks away. To get to the heart of Vieux Nice, you can take a leisurely stroll along the Promenade or take one of the convenient public bikes (there is a station close by the hotel and the bikes are free for 30 minutes) for a quick ride along the sea. We had a fantastic stay and would love to go back to Villa Les Cygnes!

Good points;
Remy and Benedicte are perfect hosts, very welcoming, able to offer information on Nice, serving delicious breakfast in lovely garden. Always smiling and helpful.
The villa - I can't call this 6-roomer a hotel - is spotless and well appointed. Our bedroom and bathroom were perfect.
Bad points;
Rooms 5 and 6 share the airconditioning and if your fellow guests decide they don't want it switched on... tough...you have to grin and bear it.
As noted by other trip advisers, the TV has only French Channels - it would be helpful to at least watch BBC World News. There is no lounge area as in normal hotels.Taxis expensive, buses cheap but invariably full when they arrive at the nearest bus-stop (standing-room only).
However, the Villa is a quaint experience and the lovely hosts make up for some of the drawbacks.

We didn't want to tell anyone about this hotel, because we didn't want to share - but Benedicte asked so nicely. Everything about it was wonderful.

The room was large, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and best of all SPOTLESS. The room we had came with a sun-room sitting area; it looks out on their gravel terrace and a wisteria vine in the backyard. The local birds and cats love the place and the buildings are beautiful, so even though there's no vista the view is beautiful, and we lost time staring out the windows. The bed was great - a firm, high-quality foam mattress - and provided deep, comfortable healing sleep under a warm quilt. The bathroom was lovely - two sinks! - and provided plentiful hot water with good pressure.

The location is good, on the edge of the city centre and only a few blocks from the beach - but also protected enough that the place offers the very essence of peace.

Benedicte and Remy, who run the place, are lovely. She speaks French and he speaks at least French and English; they were patient with my school-room French, friendly, intelligent, interesting and helpful. They provide useful lists and maps, and keep a collection of local guidebooks.

On our last night we had the breakfast they offer, and we loved it - tasty Viennoises of half a dozen sorts, three cheeses, juice, coffee or tea, yogurt, fruit salad. We ate comfortably at a leisurely pace on the terrace, and basked.

The only drawbacks I can think of was that the room was a bit cold (in mid April) and the turn-down service/check out time a bit earlier than my lazy self would like (10 AM). Everything else was wonderful.

It was the perfect getaway, and while we liked Nice, the real reason we're planning to go back is the hotel.
