“A Wonderful Welcome - Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2010

My brothers and our respective partners stayed here for the Monaco Grand Prix. We received a wonderful welcome from Gildas and Lydiane. All the rooms were very well presented two had balconies, and No. 3 having a beautiful sun lounge.

The location is ideal and only a short walk through the Museum grounds to the Promenade. The area around Les Cygnes is quiet but central to the Promenade, and a short walk to the train station, with a little further to the Old Town.

From us arriving after a long journey with a welcome drink to all the helpful information and assistance they provided during our visit, nothing was ever too much trouble. Would highly recommend the breakfast but be prepared for a feast!

Gildas and Lydiane provide a 5* service and can rightfully be proud of the hard work that goes in to making this feel such a relaxing place to stay.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Les Cygnes in early May and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Lydiane and Gildas are very friendly and helpful and keep their hotel immaculately clean. We stayed in Room 3, which has a separate sun room, which looks out over the small courtyard and garden below. The bedroom and sunroom are tastefully decorated with paintings and furnishings that are a cut above your average B&B. The bed is very comfortable and both the hotel and the area are very quiet at night. Breakfast is provided at an extra charge of 10 Euros per person and was huge: juice, yogurt, a variety of fruit, croissants, jam, a variety of cheese and bread. We were even offered meat for breakfast. If you want to start the day with a big breakfast, then this is certainly worth it. Villa Les Cygnes is located some distance from the Old Town but is just a few minutes from Promenade Des Anglais. There is a bus stop just down the hill with buses that connect to almost every tourist attraction in Nice. Parking is hard to find in Nice, but the hotel reserves a few spaces right in front of the hotel for those guests who drive to Nice. We felt very comfortable here and both the rooms and the hotel itself were just the right size for us - not too big and not too small. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Nice.

We stayed at Villa Les Cygnes when we first arrived in Nice and were absolutely delighted with our stay here. The hotel is very well kept and our room was wonderful....large room with fireplace, windows over the back garden and a charming sun-room for lounge area. Quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to the Promenade, restaurants and old town Nice. Very helpful hosts. Could not have been more pleased.

We flew into Nice and elected to pick up a car on our way out of town. They gave us good directions on taking the bus from the airport. We arrived quite early on a transfer flight from Paris - about 11:00 am. Our room was ready. The room was magnificent - large, well furnished, french doors, clean; they even provided a safe. Gildas was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and in using public transportation to get to Eze, Monte Carlo, Antibes, etc. He recommended several restaurants and we ate in two. One had exquisite feel and service with good food; the other was comfortable with great food. He located bus lines to get to where we wanted to go, then printed out routes and timetables. Breakfast is not included, but for 10 euro, it is magnificent. It was chilly so we ate inside which was very pleasant. It looked like the garden would be enchanting in nice, warm weather. At first I was thinking that I might have preferred a location closer to Old Nice. However, after staying there three days covering Nice, and visiting other towns, I think that the location is fine. There are nice restaurants close by and unless one is planning on spending most of their time in Old Nice, it is convenient to public transportation to other towns and closer to the airport. Also, if one has a car for all or part of the stay,. there is parking.

Lovely hotel, decor great and breakfast excellent and we were completely left to our own devices. Only downside was limited parking and distance to Nice centre, we found it a bit far but then we were on the tail end of our holiday and feeling a bit lazy.

I cannot find a single thing to fault at Villa Les Cygnes. My husband and I stayed there on our honey moon and we were greeted at the gate (parking is free and on the street) by Gildas and assisted to our room which had a balcony and overlooked the street. Unfortunately it was raining otherwise we would have enjoyed a drink on the balcony. The room was spotless and elegantly furnished, and to our surprised we were shown two options for our shower head! Gildas offered us a welcome drink which was lovely and after recommending us somewhere to eat for dinner left us to our own devices. We elected to have the breakfast and my word were we glad we did! Gildas prepared a fantastic breakfast and remembered what we drank on the second day. The food was fresh and seasonal and beautifully presented. For 10 euros each it was a steal! Gildas was able to make a number of recomendations re sites and places to visit during our stay and all of which were worth the effort. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and should I visit Nice again I will make sure that I stay here again! I wish Lydiane & Gildas all the best for the future and thank them for a fabulous stay!

If you like staying in a nice house with good friends ,this is the place for you.
I cannot compliment Gildas and Lydiane enough for making our stay so comfortable ,they are the perfect hosts ,there when you need them ,but give you enough space and time to explore and experience for yourself , the beauty of Nice and surrounding areas.
This is a very comfortable B&B that they have lovingly restored and live in themselves and share with guests.
The breakfast is more than you can ever eat ,with everything beng fresh and served either in the kitchen or terrace (Weather dependant).
Stay here ,you will not be dissapointed ,It is not a 5 star hotel ,but it has 5 star hosts and I know what we prefer !
