Staying with Bénédicte and Rémy was a little like being at home, almost like family. They were always available but not intrusive; there but not there. The villa is exactly that, a small villa located in a QUIET part of town, out of the daily bustle of the city yet within easy striking distance on foot. There is street parking in front, a garden in the back and all in all so comfortable, clean and pleasant for a very reasonable price. We certainly prefer this to a bigger, anonymous and much more expensive hotel.

Villa Les Cygnes is truly a unique place. My husband and I felt like we were staying as guests in a private home as opposed to a hotel. We were graciously welcomed by the managers and made to feel at home - despite a slight language barrier, they were extremely hospitable and helpful. The room and bathroom were very large, clean, and comfortable - it truly felt like a home away from home for us. The location of the property is in a quiet, residential area, about a 20 minute walk from Old Nice and the heart of downtown. The breakfast was very generous, fresh, and lovingly prepared by the managers. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in a restful, comfortable place while exploring the French Riviera.

Wife and I stayed for 3 nights in December 2010. Remy and Benedicte were incredible hosts, provided welcoming drink upon afternoon arrival, provided a great introduction and tour of the place, provided suggestions for dining, directions, and truly enjoyed getting to know us. The amenities are fantastic, very spacious room with large bathroom, outdoor patio, and very comfortable bed (Room 4). Best 3 nights sleep that I had while in Europe. Rooms very clean. No TV, but that was a blessing in disguise.

Breakfast was fantastic with the meats tray, cheeses to select from and different breads. We are not high maintenance people so we didn't ask for much, but no doubt Remy and Benedicte would have bent over backward for us if we needed.

The walking distances to old town and Center Ville and the promenade were short and enjoyable window shopping all the way down.

Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends that may venture to Nice and we will stay there for sure if we ever return.

I waffled between a 4 and a 5 rating for this hotel. Regardless, we would gladly stay there again. This is a small hotel, almost more of a bed and breakfast. It's situated a short distance from the Promenade des Anglais in a quiet neighborhood. It's about a 20 minute walk to the Old Town, but it goes by fast as the scenary is lovely.

It appears to be family owned by a couple of gracious hosts, who were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a small balcony and overlooked their garden. The room was clean, although a bit spartan. Bed sheets were slightly worn, but fine. In typical European fashion, our bed was two doubles pushed together. The bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished and was very spacious and clean.

Breakfast is offered for $10 per person. A selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, yogurt is offered, along with tea, coffee, and juice. Given the selection and convenience, we felt it was worth it.

Street parking is available directly in front of the hotel. They block off spots for guests. Note that the street is a little tight, so it could be a bit snug for a larger vehicle.

With so many hotels to pick from in Nice we decided to go with the Tripadvisor suggestions, we wére not disappointed. Although not in the tourist area and a 20- 30 minute walk to the resteraunts it was a welcome break from the mainstay hotels we had stayed at through Euroupe. The room was large with a big balcony and the bathroom was huge. For an extra 10 euros we had breakfast which was excellant. The hotel was half way through our five week trip and was the best so far. Thank you Gilda's for a great stay.

Unfortunately, I cannot rate this hotel due to the fact we booked to stay here in September but our reservation was lost. To say the least our experience with Villa Les Cygnes was awful! We reserved four rooms for in September, looking forward to our first trip to France. Shortly after booking these rooms our plans changed a little and I immediately contacted Villa Les Cygnes to change our reservation to alternate dates and to only three rooms. They replied very promptly that the dates were available and they would change my reservation, I replied and assumed we were all set for our new dates. Never assume anything! I heard nothing from these people until while checking my email the day before we arrived in Nice I had received a email stating we had missed our reservation dates....completely confused I replied that there must have been a mistake we had changed our dates and to please confirm that we still had our reservation for the new dates. The next day, while en-route to Nice from Provence, we stopped to check my email again, only to find out they never changed our dates and had now charged my credit card for four nights claiming we never confirmed our new dates with them! So, thank you Villa Les Cygnes for leaving five people with no place to stay! As well as many months of battling it out with my credit card....which by the way they sided with me!

We stayed at Villa Les Cygnes for three nights while traveling the South of France with our two year old son. The hotel is located in a nice residential area away from the noise of the center of nice but it is easy to get there from the hotel as it is located a few blocks away from the Promenade Des Anglais and from there it is a 10-15 min walk to the center of Nice. The room was good sized and comfortable for the three of us, it was nicely appointed and clean .Gildas, our host was very nice and gave us great advice on dining options nearby. We didn't try the breakfast there. We had a car and although it didn't have parking service we could easily park on the street in front of the hotel. We would definitely go back.
