We have been to nice three times now and each time we eat at this place at least twice during our stay. Yes, I agree the food is slow, but it tells you that before you order. Anyway what's the rush! We have eaten of both the a la carte and set menu and have found the food to be both testy and excellent value for money. The host, juliette is charming and very welcoming.

I would have rated 10 stars if possible !
My boyfriend and I had been looking for somewhere special to have a meal on our last night in Nice together, and so serendipitously we stumbled upon Chez Juliette after trawling the Old Town & it's beautiful little alleyways.
The menu options on the blackboard sounded really enticing, and we loved the whole quirky look of the place with its colourful tiled tables, and the waiters were really lovely & helpful !
I ordered the stuffed vegetable salad, and my boyfriend had the pork with caramelised honey glaze .. Both meals tasted absolutely exquisite, and for the price of €16.90 & €14.90, we were stunned at the value ! The flavours were perfect & everything was really beautifully cooked.
I felt so lucky that we found this wonderful little restaurant as it made our last evening on holiday that little bit more special.
Would definitely recommend - incredible food & great service for a highly reasonable price !

I don't usually write reviews. Except when a restaurant is exceptionally good or exceedingly bad. This was exceedingly bad. Not because the food was poor (actually, the steak I had was ok, if a bit overpowering with the pepper sauce it was bathed in, and the onion soup before it was was watery and a bit tasteless, but at least the food was fresh.) However, the service from beginning to end was absolutely awful.

When I arrived, the blonde-haired head waitress told me it would be at least 45 minutes' wait for a table outside. However, I could see at least 3 tables leaving. She repeated it would be a wait, and could I please come back later. There was a bar inside that she did not allow me to wait at. I was about to leave, and a table then freed up. Glaring at me, the waitress said it would take 15 minutes to clear (which it did not).

When I asked about the contents of the menu (saying I did not eat pork/ham) I was promptly cut off and told briskly that everything except the vegetarian option on the menu had pork. When I chose the steak, the waitress told me in a condescending fashion that it had wine. I had not asked about wine, I told her politely, just pork.

After more than 30 minutes, the starter (a soup) had still not arrived, and by that point the restaurant had half-emptied. When I enquired how long it would take, the waitress replied that it was a 'slow food restaurant' so it took as long as it took.

When the food finally arrived, it was ok but not spectacular. My companions had the 'menu' option, stuffed vegetables , preceded by goats cheese on croquettes. The food was a bit oily and burnt round the edges slightly, although it had a decent taste. My steak was swimming in very strong pepper sauce and the vegetables were soaked in oil, which was a shame as they were fresh and did not need to be drenched. The pear dessert (which my friends had) was not as fresh as could be and not very original - they just stewed a pear (nothing else) and soaked it in chocolate.

However, even if the food was of a good quality in view of the price, the service was so appalling that there is no question that I will ever go back.

Don't expect gourmet diner, but if you are around rue Rossetti in Nice and you want a plain local diner Juliette it's fine
A friend had a coq au vin that was surprisingly very good?i had petits farçis niçois that were nice and tasty
Another friend had a grilled local fish and he loved it,all that diner with a very nice bottle of rosé
For desert we all had a poched pear with a chocolate sauce ,well I think you can imagine!
Very friendly service and won't break your bank!y

Great slow cooked food. I had the beef fillet with foie gras and my partner, the beef fillet with a (very spicy) peppercorn sauce. Slightly rude head waitress but that didn't spoil the atmosphere.
