“Great campsite and facilities, on the beach!!”
Reviewed 7 February 2013

This is a great campsite in a fantastic location - you can camp on the beach if you please.
It's probably 2km outside of Grimaud, to the east/north coast road.

Lovely big site with huge pitches. We stayed in the site itself but it was amazing to walk down their drive, over the road and onto the beach.

Great facilities - toilets and showers always seemed to be being cleaned. Outside washing and cleaning sinks too. Showers had blocks of varying temperatures - this was a new one on me!
Wherever in the site you stay, there is always two sets of facilities near to you. Good little shop, and evening bar/restaurant.

Worth a stay if you want to stay somewhere just outside of St Tropez.

Camped on the beach here for 2 weeks in a VW camper, had the time of our lives, great location, take a water taxi to St Tropez market from Port Grimaud on a Saturday morning buy all your fresh food and fantastic wine for a banquet on the beach on a Saturday night as we did with some old friends fantastic. How the team running this site keep everything clean and tidy is a miracle with so many people using the site, don’t be put off by the crowd this is a very friendly place everyone is here to have a good time and do. A bit of road noise on a night, if you’re a light sleeper book a pitch across the road at back of the site very peaceful.
Be prepared finding a pitch can be a bit chaotic when you first arrive it is a very busy site however put up with hassle because once your settled its a cracking place, on site shop has good produce and the fresh bread and croissants are as you would expect in France beautiful. The onsite restaurant was good basic food well presented and not expensive however drinks were I just had a beer.We ate twice in the restaurant and the duck was fantastic for what we paid, great to have your bike lots of places to explore and get a tan in the bargain, one of my favourite places and I usually like small quite sites which says it all I suppose. Give it a go you will love it.

Very clean shower and toiletfacilities!
Good restaurant!
Great location, on the beach!
View on Saint-Tropez!
Helpful staff!
Supermarket!
Safe camping! Security and batch!

This is a great camping to discover the area, I think it's the cheapest solution, because other campings and hotels are even more expensive.
Very very clean toilets and showers!

Me and my girlfriend spent 1 night in June. The reception is very new and professional and people are professionals (almost like in good hotels). We were escorted to our pitch by a guy in a golf cart. Camping is very large. Bathrooms are good and it is quite in the evening - but absolutely avoid places next to the restaurant because there it may be noisy till late. An underground passage connects you to a small beach, very relaxing in the evening.

Camping is connected to Saint-Tropez via a bus service (not so regular though). The best way is to take a car and park in the harbour of Saint-Tropez. Then take off for one of the famous beaches of Saint-Tropez - mind there are some nudists beaches as well!!! Listen to me: for all beaches you have to pay around 10 €. So, go to Neptune beach (there are places in the shade and you have to pass a barrier to get in), we did not pay a cent!!! There was no one at the entrance, so free parking. But Neptune beach is a nudist beach, so if you are not the type walk to your right for 100m. But to be honest, beaches of Saint-Tropez are not so nice (very crowded)...just to be there to tell people you have been there.

We booked our holiday back in January 2010 via the internet and asked for a quiet pitch away from the busy main road. We were given a great pitch, possibly the best location on site. The reception was very welcoming, and very helpfull with all questions asked. We were however charged 20 euro's for booking online, and in advance with I thought was a bit naughty.

The main road was an issue, with both the noise, and the danger of trying to cross the road via a crossing. The site did have an underground tunnel that would allow you acces to the beach if you wanted to use this?, but failed to have any security gate on the same tunnel to stop anyone using the same tunnel to acces the site in the early hours.

Toilets were kept clean, but more are needed, as I realy dont know how the site would cope in the peak season. The site needs a facelift, as it is now looking tired.

Some of the other camping pitches were dreadfull if you were using a smaller tent.

The site shop was very good, not too pricey, and well stocked, but the restaurant was a let down.

We asked about the childrens club that was advertised, as we had a 10 year old with us. We were told it was for little kids only. This was let down as this was one of the features that allowed us to choose the site, so if you have children upto 7 you will be ok.

Overall the holiday was a success, great pitch, great location to beach, which never seemed to be crowded, great weather, great holiday....

We booked this campsite 6 weeks before our trip to France and on booking asked if there was a possibilty of staying on the beach part of the campsite, we were delighted to get confirmation that this was possible. On arrival, we were not disappointed. Really nice site with the private beach ( which was never crowded) three rows in front of us. Although this site is close to a busy road, you dont even hear the noise after a short while. The staff were very friendly and most spoke English with our limited French. All we required was on site, a well stocked shop, bar and restaurant (possibly could have had a bigger choice of menu). The toilets and showers were extremely clean at all times. A 15 min leisurely walk along the beach took you to the edge of the village of Port Grimaud. Camping Des Mures is a very well run site and we will definitely be heading back next year.
