My daughter and I arrived by train with heavy backpacks and camping gear. However, it was Sunday late morning and the campsite reception in nearby Eze was understandably closed leaving us accommodation free. This hotel came up on the relevant websites. It was clean, pleasant, few frills accommodation located within an easy and cheap 20 minute train ride from Monaco/Monte Carlo station. Use Carnales station rather than Roquebrune though: it's much closer! Some building work close by but not intrusive.

Room Tip: The configuration of the hotel means that it's "end on" to the sea with balconies on either side. Hence, I don't think that any offer a TRUE sea view. Adjoining buildings are quite close.

Nice, quiet, reasonable price. Problems with parking, though, but we left the car in the street and were not fined. The best of all, the hotel is just two blocks from the beach. Right there on the seafront you can visit restaurant Le Fellini which I rated before. Walk along the beach towards the historical attractions, and you will see prices quickly rising.

Hotel was recommended by our German friends. Hotel is a block away from the beach. We paid 77eur per night which is probably the lowest we have paid for a while. Hotel is very minimal but really clean and not too old. Don't expect anything else but definitely a good place to sleep.

We came for attending an event at the Cote d'Azur which took almost all rooms between Menton and Nice. So, we were lucky to find a small apartment though one that had not been renovated yet. A solution to spend the day outside. There was noise from construction on the backside of the building, some smell from there but that was minor due to the fact of being out over the day. There are hotel rooms as well but they were full. The reception was a bit chaotic as it seems that rates are not fixed, communication difficult and some competition or something like that between the people working there. Some are very friendly, some don't lift the head when you greet and they reply. However, this is a personal observation. Breakfast is excluded. 8.50 Eur per person - we didn't try. There are places at the beach, 150m away. Or you buy your stuff to eat in the apartment. Not in the hotel room which has no fridge. Pool and solarium we didn't use. The relatively small space in apartment and hotel room where we stayed after the event are not for spending your time.

Booked this hotel a couple of days before we arrived. we had planned a trip to France to use the train to travel around. Not the cheapest hotel but not far from station or the sea.

when we arrived at Nice the trains were having a problem so we got the express coach to Menton and surrounding areas. 20euros each, ouch! Hotel in Carnoles so get off train there. we walked a long way from coach stop. hotel in a residential area, high rises.
We had booked a privilege room as we like a balcony to chill with wine and cheese at night.
When we got to the room (151 I think but will check) our hearts dropped. very basic - bed wardrobe, French TV. decent showeroom - clean. It was a corner room at the front of the hotel over reception. it was supposed to be a private balcony but only one side could have a screen as it was like a wedge with the balcony being the thin edge, if you know what I mean. We were affected by all the smokers nearby. Balcony got no sun at any time of the day

OK but we were gutted. Questioned it at reception. There is a huge building site at the back of the hotel and those rooms have better balconies with afternoon sun. don't think those rooms are being used. they said they were having problems because of the Building Site. ( why not offer them at a cheaper rate? BS closed at 6 . ok when you're out all day) we said we would put up with the BS if we could have a better room. one wasn't ready. Should have pushed it a bit more we were there for 2 nights but didn't move.
The pool is down the street through the next apartment block. You need a flash key thing to access it - make sure it's on your keyring. ours wasn't) Got some sun but overlooked by cranes very close by. We did know this before we arrived. Next year this pool will be unusable as the new building looks big.
The staff were pleasant. Breakfast was a basic continental but you could eat outside.
Carnoles was very quite and they close shops in the afternoon. we did use the cafe/shack next to the Boules pitch overlooking the beach ( pebbly)which was good.
We had only booked two nights and we were pleased we had. We can cope with cheap but this was depressing. We packed up and went to Cannes and for £50 per room per night MORE we had sheer luxury.
