Clean, decent sized rooms, nice ensuite. Basically everything you can ask for from a 2 star hotel. 3 mins walk from the beach. Easy access and perfectly located for exploring the seafront and the windign streets of this lovely little town.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. There was no parking at the hotel but plenty of free parking nearby and we did not use our car at all during our stay so there was no inconvenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful - went 'above and beyond' to assist. Room was very quiet and overlooked the alfresco breakfast area. It was basic but clean, had a comfortable bed and a small fridge. It is very central to all attractions and restaurants so we were able to walk everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in this part of the world again. Recommended to those who are looking for an inexpensive hotel in a good location with a friendly atmosphere.

We stayed for just one night at this lovely clean hotel and were very pleased with what it offered. Our room was clean and bright and had a little balcony with two chairs on it. The management were most helpful to us advising us on a fabulous restaurant as well as being friendly. Would definitely recommend this for a short stay.

No frills but great value, location, super friendly and helpful staff. Quite loud at times due to the proximity to one of the main streets just back from the beach, be sure to keep the window closed to reduce noise.
Would recommend or possibly return if on a budget in an expensive location

I arrived in St Maxieme late in the evening after driving across France and checked into this hotel. The charge was 55 euros for the nigh,t in March, and it is designated a 3 star - so I expected a reasonable standard. However, the place was shabby with wood chip on the walls with a poor attempt to modernise and repaint areas. The bedroom was small and basic with a hard and uncomfortable bed. This I could put up with but what was inexcusable was the 8 euro brekfast that consisted of two pieces of stale bread and some sachets of jam, with a terrible cup of coffee. On top of that, work was being undertaked with drilling etc and a workman passed my table with a bag of cement on his back, What was gauling is that the landlady appeared to see this and did not think that this was not acceptable customer service.
My trip to france was overall very enjoyable this hotel was the only blot on the experience.

Le Chardon Bleu is a great hotel in the heart of Ste Maxime. Both owners Mr and Mme Kozak are extremely nice and attentive - they greeted us at the door as we were coming, knowing exactly who we were! All rooms are air conditioned and each has a little fridge. The hotel does not have parking but there are several free parking lots less than 100 m from the hotel. Loved the Chardon Bleu and loved Ste Maxime!

This is a great hotel, its right in the middle of St Maxime, close to the shops, markets and beach. The hotel had all the amenties you might need, when we arrived the owner was extremely pleasant. He noticed our poor French speaking and spoke in very good English to us instead (thank goodness!). Our room was fairly basic but had everything you need and most importantly after a few glasses of vino the bed was very comfy :)! If there was anything you might need the owner was very accommodating, and there was no paying deposits for usage of safety deposit boxes or hairdryers like you get in more commercial hotels. The town of St Maxime is 'French' and we both felt very safe there. From the harbour you can catch a ferry every 20minutes to St Tropez if you fancy star spotting or big boat oogling. This hotel was very extremely good value for money and would happily go back. Dont be put off by the 2* rating. The only negative point is mainly on behalf of us Brits is the lack of tea making facilities .. thats the only gripe we have!
