“Beautiful Village”
Reviewed 1 August 2012

Have been here many times and it never fails to enchant me. The shops are interesting and the village itself is lovely, with amazing views whenever you reach the village walls. Some moderately priced jewellery shops, art shops and good gifts for taking home. We usually have drinks (fairly expensive. But, let's face it, you are in one of the most exclusive villages in the South of France. If you're self-catering, don't do your food shopping there. We paid four times the real cost of a melon! If you're feeling extremely rich go to the Colombe D'Or restaurant, former hangout of Yves Montand and Simone Signoret, but they were privileged to eat in the kitchen!

“Great little walled village”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

A walled town on a hill, home and burial place of artist Marc Chagall, noted impressionist. Lots of little shops, beautiful views, many "Kodak" moments. Downside were the narrow streets and lack of parking spots. However, this village was never built with autos in mind! Still well worth visiting, and if you hope to eat at the famous Colombe d'Or, book it two months ahead of time.

“Place with interesting things to buy and see”
Reviewed 29 July 2012 via mobile

Visited St Paul De Vence in July 2012.
Found many interesting shops selling unique pieces, for home decor and paintings. Some construction work on going few hundred meters away, thus some nice scenery were blocked by cranes.
The tourist office was not open at the time it was supposed to be open. ( about 9.30 or 10am) Which was not good, as tourists visiting early could not get an advanced highlight of this attraction.

Home decor and painting lovers should visit the place.

“It's nice when the hype delivers”
Reviewed 28 July 2012

This is one of the 'sites' that i had reservations about seeing. Too much hype, i thought, for just another hilltop village. It's so nice to be wrong, sometimes. This is a beautiful village in a beautiful setting with artists galore & lovely meandering walking streets. The only thing wrong with it is that there were too many of us tourists there. I'd love to return in the off season as a visitor instead of a tourist and see it as it really is the rest of the year.

“St Paul - great place if you like art”
Reviewed 27 July 2012

What a fantastic place to visit. Very pretty streets and quaint buildings although somewhat over-run with art shops - very expensive art shops. The ramparts are superb and offer great views across the vally and beyond. Not recommended for disabled - all cobbles.
Pretty poor parking. GReat bar overlooking the boules area - some nice restaurants (La Sierra in particular). Would go back again.
