Stunning place! Can't wait to go back. The village is so beautiful and the views too. Great location to visit the Riviera and the surrounding villages.

“Charming and Quaint”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

We have visited this beautiful hillside village on numerous occasions and have always found it special. this year it was not crowded which made it more pleasant to wander around and the quality of goods found in the shops from clothing to crafts and food products seemed vastly improved. The galleries full of interesting sculptures and paintings are worth browsing even if not quite ones taste.

“Picture perfect hilltop village”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

The village is in great condition an d nice to stroll around. I can see what other reviewers mean - in the middle of high season it would be very busy and hot in a sunny day. We packed in the underground carpark which was right squeeze for our rental people carrier. If you like boutiques selling crafts then this will suit you.

“Beautiful tourist trap”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

One of those glorious little villages of south France. Touristic yes. Beautiful yes. Worth seeing definitely. The main street is adorned by numerous art galleries, some not without interest. Plenty of restaurants.

“Beautiful stone village with lots of souviner shops and art work.”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

We had a pleasant drive up a lovely road from Nice to the ancient town of St. Paul de Vence, where we strolled through this wonderful village, former hangout of Picasso, Matisse, and Chagall (the latter of whom is buried here). The cobblestone narrow streets are lined with art galleries, shops selling fine art, and around 346 souvenir shops. For us, though, the old cobblestone walkways and stone buildings were a treat, and there were some really fine art galleries and first class artwork for sale. Some pieces exceeded 100,000 euros in price, so we contented ourselves with some of the Italian gelato that was sold in one of the shops. We recommend doing this village along the way to the truly beautiful, and less touristy, town of Gourdon.
