The only thing that amazes us more than this hotel is that anyone can rate it less than excellent! We've traveled extensively and had the pleasure of staying at some wonderful hotels, but Le Hameau goes to the top of of the list of most charming and delightful places to stay. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous in every way, with stunning gardens, wonderful details, spectacular views and a perfect location just outside St. Paul-de-Vence - literally a 10 minute walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was comfortable and well-appointed, and the details of the decor simply first class.

Others have mentioned that the short walk into town can be a little intimidating - it can! You have to carefully cross the main road and keep to the road's edge - it's not a place for children to be left to themselves.

If you ask nicely, the proprietor will show you his collection of fine Italian sports cars - Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and Alfa Romeos, plus a vintage Honda CB 350 motorcycle. He will even take you for a spin if he has the time.

The only small pity is that other than for breakfast (excellent) and lunch (we did not try this), the hotel does not have its own restaurant. But it does have a well-equipped bar and there are some wonderful restaurants in the town and nearby.

We recommend this without any hesitation - charming, excellent value and a source of rich memories of a lovely part of Southern France, central for many fine tourist destinations, including Vence, Haute De Cagnes, Eze, Ville Franche, Biot and Antibes.

Room Tip: We chose the least expensive room - it was fine and conveniently located.

Charming hotel with warm and generous service from the inn keeper and staff. The grounds are magnificent and charming with flowers everywhere. Wonderful breakfast buffet served in their lovely garden. Hotel is very convenient for walking into town and great restaurants. Loved this little charming place and would absolutely stay again!

Easy walk to the town. Perfect old French farmhouse, now redone and immaculate. Wonderful views that make you understand why all those painters came here. Breakfast is marvelous. They must make those croissants on site. Snacks and drinks are available all day. Beautiful terrace, pool and garden. Helpful hosts and staff. Nice is 20 min away. No trouble to visit Monte Carlo or Antibes from here. Our next trip to the Cote d'Azur will be arranged around availability at the Le Hameau.

My husband and I spent the final two nights of a three week trip to France at this gem of a hotel. Being at Le Hameau was like stepping back in time eighty years or so. The rooms, the public spaces and the gardens were charming beyond all belief. For us, Le Hameau's proximity to St.-Paul-de-Vence was especially advantageous. We were able to walk to the popular hilltop village in the morning, beating the crowds, and were then able to return to Le Hameau in the afternoon for a relaxing swim. Later, it was just a short walk back to St. Paul to fabulous restaurants like La Colombe d'Or and Le Tillieul. After nine days of driving, it was wonderful to just park the car and enjoy Le Hameau's proximity to such great sites. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace was especially fresh and lovely. My only hope is that, if I'm ever fortunate enough to return to Le Hameau, nothing whatsoever has changed in my absence!

This hotel was a great find for us. We wanted to be within driving distance to the attractions of Cote-D'Azur and Le Hameau was an excellent choice. It is located within walking distance of the gorgeous St. Paul de Vence with tasteful art scattered around the flowery property. The smaller rooms are rather tiny but that only matters if you plan on spending most of your time in your room. The property itself is very Provencal in look and feel and has plenty of quaint areas to relax. The pool is nice and has a great view. Nice is 20 minutes away by car. Breakfast is a reasonable 15 Euros per person. Overall, highly recommended.
