This is a no frills hotel-clean,functional,centrally located near main bus station and Rail Station. The TV worked well. The bathrooms were kept clean.Towels and bedding changed everyday, inspite request to not to do everyday for environmental reasons.

A very, very short walk takes you to the sea front and all the promenade shops and restaurants.

Not very far from the Hotel and opposite the Fish Market in Victor Hugo Avenue is a fish restaurant. More about it below.

Make sure you have your breakfast in the Hotel and is very good value for 8 euros. You don't get that value anywhere else in St Raphael, but skip the breakfast if you plan to have a meal in the restaurant below.

Now for the fish Restaurant:-

Fish Restaurant

Frites Mason Chez Manu

Avenue Victor Hugo

Freshly Caught Fish served at a most reasonable price.

I would have never believed such a place existed at such a price if not for a chance discovery of this place, certainly not in the over priced French Riviera.

It is located very near the Main Fish Market, just a few minutes from the sea front, in the heart of the town.

There is a day menu for around 10 Euros, but a la carte is not much more expensive. You choose the fish or seafood you want and the waiter will go across the road and buy it and have it cooked for you. In the mean time enjoy the excellent house wine in piches, at just a few euros cost, and savour this very local, friendly and french atmosphere.

The locals testify that it is the best place for fish in St Raphael.

The desserts and coffee are equally excellent value and the service is truly charming.

Allow yourself plenty of time as the food is freshly cooked and the place gets full, as it is open only at lunchtimes. The portions are huge and you are unlikely to need supper after a lunch at this place

Room Tip: Try to chose a room on the higher floor for qietness and perhaps better view of the area

The hotel is near to the train and bus stations and a short walk from the old port, where there are plenty of places to eat. The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable, if a little firm. While there was some noise from people in the street, it tended to die down by late evening. Breakfast was fairly basic, but bread and croissants were always fresh. Very good value for money.

We liked it enough to stay here a second time and would repeat. Again: central location, nice, good staff, room average European size, no food in room(keeps pests out), and many locals know of the place. www.hotel-provencal.com

This hotel is centrally located and right between Frejus and Saint Raphael so its a short walk to a beach in either city. There is a little local italian restaurant across the street (not the big one called Rome on the corner) that is delicious and has an incredibly friendly staff.

The hotel staff does not speak very good English but is helpful and nice. Our room had automatic blinds over the window doors leading to the balcony so in the morning no sunlight can come into the room. During the night it is a bit loud because you can hear the activities in the street, but it is not too bothersome. There is air conditioning in the room and the maid keeps the room/towels/sheets very clean.

Breakfast is around 7 Euros a person so I opted to find my own places to eat which worked out nicely.

Room Tip: I slept in room 9 which was very spacious for a European hotel!

The hotel is very nice and clean, and on a good location, just about 50 meters from the promenade and 300 meters from the train station. It is a good value for money.
