Our stay in August at Hotel des Lices was only short but I would definately stay again when I journey back to this lovely place. The hotel had a reasonably sized swimming pool and was very close to the centre of the action. A 1 minute walk to Place des Lices - a hot spot for celebrity spotting, was so convenient. My husband and I had dinner every night at a few of the restaurants lining this leafy part of town. A 5-10 minute leisurely stroll is all it took to reach the port and the bigger, popular night spots of St Tropez. The rooms were small but beautifully decorated. Ours had a little terrace that we could walk onto (standing room only) which we used to view the fancy pants people that passed by. It was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly and spoke English. We used the pool quite a lot and never had any trouble getting a great sun bed. The only complaint I had was that when people closed the doors to their room the noise travelled easily through the corridors was easily heard which made it difficult to sleep in. All in all we had a great stay.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room towards the back of the property preferably away from...

I stayed here wih my wife in early September 2011.

We stayed in many other places in Saint Tropez, but this place has some special. It has great facilities (the pool!), very near to city centre!

Immediately after coming home we booked again for next year. That says it all for us.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back. The front is rather noisy (busy road)

Stayed here last week. loved it. super friendly staff(barman partic and front desk), we stayed with a newborn in room 43- a self contained cottage with great terrace area. what is great about this place, is that it is close to restaurants, ports, markets and had a great pool, relaxed family feel and plenty of space to park your car.. would highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: for small chilld or couple room 43 with terrace area was excellent

We stayed for a week in August. The reception, bar & pool area are lovely. The staff are lovely too. What was a let down for us was our room. We paid £350 per night. There was no mini bar, no room service and the room generally seemed a little run down. My pillow was lumpy and when I asked for another, it was just the same. I had to search around for a linen shop to buy a pillow (the cheapest one I could find being €50!). I know August is peak season, but even so I feel this needs addressing when you are paying £350 per night.

A great little hotel in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The staff are fabulous and always willing to help. We found the room to be way above the expected standard with plenty of room for empty luggage etc. Our room overlooked the pool, which was lovely. Breakfast is taken around the pool, after first placing your order at reception. I found the breakfast to be good value in comparison to the cost in the cafes in St. Tropez town. Whilst the continental breakfast is EU16, which is great value for what you receive, one must still pay around EU4 extra for coffee or tea. nevertheless, still better value than we could find elsewhere. The location of the hotel is basically in the middle of town - couldn't be more central. I would highly recommend this hotel. Free parking is also a plus.

Room Tip: worth paying extra for a room overlooking the pool. For a summer booking, one needs to book like a y...

Wonderful location just 2 blocks from the town center. Saturday is market day in the town square and was an easy walk from this hotel. Breakfast is served either in your room or by the pool (opt for the pool!) and was yummy. The staff was helpful and made good suggestions for dinner reservation. Great value in a great location.

Hotel des Lices is actually an amazing hotel, it was unfortunate we had such a bad experience. On arriving at the hotel we were extremely impressed, You walk into an amazing reception area that leads to a fabulously decorated bar/lounge area which flows out to the chic pool and deck area. You are greeted with exceptional service, they park your car & show you to your room. This unfortunately for us was were our stay started to go down hill fast!!

We were checked into room 43, the best I can do to describe it is an overpriced grubby out house. It is a small building off the the side of the main hotel that looks as if it may have been used as a garden shed in it's day and has now been converted into an extra hotel room, at 200 euro a night it is priced much higher than the standard rooms in the main hotel building. The room is poorly renovated/converted, the floor in the room & bathroom was filthy to say the least. After showering the bathroom floor is soaked as the shower screen is ill fitted, there was a foul oder from the running water in the shower. We had noticed some ants in the bathroom & on the floor around the room, it wasn't until we went to go to bed the first night we realised they were in the bed also. On advising reception of the ant problem, the solution was to spray insecticide and advise us they would have house keeping give the floor a good clean the following day (Not promising considering the state of the room at check in). We also could not get Wifi access from the room, reception provided an alternative connection that also failed to provide access. I have seriously stayed in Motel rooms I would rate higher than the room we stayed in here and for a fraction of the price.

If we had a room in the main hotel building this may have been a totally different experience for us, unfortunately we got stiffed with the over priced grubby out house!!
