“Great Location, small room”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

The location is the best. The room is small, the bethroom too, but both are clean. The room have no blackout, it's very clear, I waked up very early everyday.
when I booked the owner told me it would have parking at the hotel, but actually doesn't have. She told me to parking in public parking, which are actually paid. In front of the hotel has one, but DON'T PARK THERE. I do not speak French and my husband yet. The hotel has a plaque in French indicating not to park the car in the public parking in front of the hotel, because some days is fair and if you park your car there they squeal, and have to pay 119 euros.
And no one from the hotel told me, when I complain they showed signs in French, and I said we do not understand, then looked for a sign in English, which was hidden behind the door and had a large plant in front of it, and when we checked we informed to owner that we had parked in that parking and they said it was ok.
We were very angry.
After check-in we had the unfortunate surprise to know that the hotel has no elevator and we had to climb the heavy suitcases up the stairs, and no one helped us. Meanwhile the owners continued drinking his wine as if nothing occurred.
And the owner has a cat, which is a negative point for me because I am very afraid, and even talking to her, she did nothing.
Would not be in this hotel again, why not recommend it, even being very well located.

Room Tip: If you want to stay in the hotel, ask for rooms at the ground to not climb with suitcases.

We were very pleased about our experience at this hotel.
We arrived and checked in. When we inquired about parking, the front desk told us the hotel did not have available parking out front (they told us this via email before we booked -- they have a very limited number of spots, so it is luck). The front desk tried to rearrange parking for us, and then offered us free parking at the port. What service! We took it. It was a few blocks away, but we saved a bunch of money, and were planning to go the port anyway!
We did the 166E room. The room was nice, and the bathroom was very large and clean. This is not a five star hotel, but a great option.
The best thing about this hotel is the central location. It is absolutely perfect for going to the port, to Byblos, etc. Also, the market is right outside on Tuesdays.
We will absolutely return when we return to St. Trop.

Chosen by a friend for a girl's trip for dinner and the market next day, this was a delight. Really helpful staff - in both French & English - and a lovely garden for evening drinks and a respite from busy St Tropez. The rooms are simple, but clean and bright, and I would highly recommend it as a great value choice. The kind of choice, actually, when you feel a bit smug for having found it!

Room Tip: Lovely rooms just off the garden

To the people who insist on being on the water, and in the thick of things and spend $$$$ this is not for you! We arrived in St Tropez without a room and decided to take a chance, we found a gem!!! Small, clean, well priced, and just off a small park-market place. It was early Nov. and most every place was scaling back for the off season, less traffic and people and well priced. They offered breakfast which we declined so as to go to the bakery just outside there gate. The square was lovely quiet and had a few local restaurants were open, which were very good and well priced, plate de jour 16 Euros, great pate and pizza.
All in all we will return on our next visit, and hope it will be in the warmer season so we can avail ourselves of there great
Small garden and cocktail area. A winner!!!!K

Apart from a few Ibis hotels in France and a not-so-nice 2-star on a freeway somewhere south of Paris our family only ever stays at 5-star hotels. But we drove into St Tropez without a booking and after door-knocking a couple of alternatives we stumbled across this place. And I can't describe how happy I was to find it. It's not posh or plush. But it has got character and it's cute and fun and close to everything. The lady hotelier can be found sipping drinks on a table with her friend near the entrance every afternoon. Her husband - a man of few words until you force him to chat - seems to be in charge in the mornings. The rooms are small, but they have a bed and a tv, which I don;t even think we turned on. The rooms look out onto a sunny little garden courtyard, while others back onto a private little garden. We stayed 2 nights in two rooms and I didn't want to leave, but they didn't have any vacancies. The next night we stayed at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, but when it comes to atmosphere I would find it difficult to say which is more fun.. and that's saying a lot seeing as the Hotel de Paris is the one that sits opposite the casino and is home to visiting celebrities and an endless procession of the fanciest cars in Europe. Palmiers is soooooooo cheap. Look, it's not 5-star, it's not modern... it's cosy and cheap and in a great location. And I would honestly book it over the other nearby 5-stars if we return. My only complaint is this. We parked our 7-seater Ford Galaxy out the front under a tree filled with roosting birds. Needless to say, after 2 nights the car was a disgusting mess. I didn't realise how bad it was until we pulled up beside a couple of Ferraris and handed the keys to the valet at the Hotel de Paris. It would have been a bit embarrassing if our family still suffered from embarrassment - but we are now used to looking like the poorest people in the places we stay.
i would skip the hotel's breakfast and sit among the ugliest people you will ever see in those waterfront cafes with the seats all facing towards the superyachts. Have a look at the rubbery, distorted, orange faces on the people sitting in the front row of these seats in the afternoons.

Room Tip: i think u can buy a better breakfast elsewhere

We stayed for two nights after moving from a far more expensive and noisy hotel on the harbour. Lovely quiet location overlooking the gardens. Excellent position. Staff friendly and room really comfortable, with an enormous bed. Everything was really clean with extra pillows, hairdryer and air con. Could have done with a decent english channel on the TV as BBC1 didn't work. Good value for money and very central. The garden bar / breakfast area adds to the charm.
