“Easy going for a night or 2!”
Reviewed 19 April 2014 via mobile

This is a lovely little hotel which is not in the old center of Saint Tropez but about 5/10mn away walking distance (2mn driving).
It was clean and the staff was welcoming and friendly...added value: there is parking in the back of the hotel.
I would not spend 4 days there as it is quite noisy (you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to yours). But a night worked just fine for me.

They offer courtyard view (parking and dehors) or sea view (the main road leading to St. Tropez and the bay: Ste. Maxime). We were not bothered by cars even though we had the road right under our 2nd floor window however, keep in mind that it was April and not August.

Breakfast is an extra 15€/person but I strongly recommend you stroll into town to start the day Place des Lyces or on the port.

Pros:
- Free parking
- It was clean enough.
- It was one of the cheapest hotels in St Tropez.
- The back room is indeed very silent. No noises there!

Cons:
- Location. You can always walk to the port (aprox 15 minute walk) but you are not in the middle of the whole thing.
- Room is not that great. It is not modern.
- It is too basic for the price you pay.

Room Tip: The room in the back to avoid noises.

I can't give it 4 Stars because it is noisy and the rooms are somewhat small BUT I have stayed now 3 times in St Tropez because
- Very good location: You drop the car and walk to the city - circumventing the traffic nightmares
- Very good value for St Tropez which can get outrageous (reason for this is no pool I assume)
- Very clean
- Very nice service

So this is a very positive 3 Stars - I just wish one could sleep better here...!

We checked in on a Sunday for a two day stay while staying in Provence for two weeks. Nice friendly staff at check-in, room small but clean, and better than average bathroom. BUT, the A/C was not up to over 200 euros per night. While Michelin rated, it is a good value (next door "offered" me a price of over 600 euros per night for same dates) and only a 10 minute walk to the port and the night life. We liked the hotel very much but were put off by the poor A/C. We don't like the heat, can you tell?

We decided to come to Saint Tropez in very high season (July) and very last minute literally could not find anywhere to stay. After looking through the Saint Tropez tourism website we found this hotel. It is fairly well positioned (as you drive into st.trop) and is a very easy 8 minute walk into town. The hotel is very clean and kept up well. The staff are welcoming and we were VERY pleasantly surprised by the place. We paid 215 euros a night (very reasonable this time of year). It has kind of a motel vibe - and if you have a car is perfect as there is a free safe car park. You can then drive to beaches (as there is no pool).

Room wise - we would recommend staying on the top (second floor) and facing away from water as if you face water there is quite a loud road. Some rooms have balconies others don't.

Rooms are very simple / clean and perfect for 1 to 3 nights stay.

You can hear people in corridor (opening and closing doors) but not to bad.

I would recommend :)

The hotel is in a great location - they say 50m to the beach, which is correct, but that beach is a port!
The rooms are small but clean and very well appointed, slippers/dressing gowns/ all bathroom amenities etc.
Breakfast under shade on the terrace was excellent value, with breads, croissant, cheeses, yoghurt, tea, coffeee etc. very good indeed.
The private car park - with it;s own attendent was a great bonus.
Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The only complaint was the poor a/c that just about kept the room bearable - but we were there in high summer with 33 degrees outside!
We had a sea view room on the 2nd floor ( no lift / no porter so be aware) that would of been very, very noisy if the windows were left open with constant traffic noise - the rear rooms were much quieter.
The nearest good beach about a 10m walk, or with a great car park was Pearl Beach which was 22 euros a day each for two beds and umbrella and the food was fabulous - lunch was around 45 euros with water, but no wine.
The hotel is about 10mins from the centre of town, an easy walk and passing a Casino supermarket for drinks, fruit etc.
A well recommended hotel and we would go again without doubt - but not in summer.
It takes over an hour to get in / out of St.Tropez with such heavy traffic - spring and autumn are best or take the ferry from St. Maxime.

Room Tip: No pool - so you need the beach!

Excellent little hotel in a great location in St Tropez, myself & my partner stayed here for one night in June 2013 whilst on a road trip across the French Riviera. There is absolutely nothing I can fault about this hotel - it is obvious from the price that you are not going to get a high-end immaculate hotel with a 5* bedroom, so don't expect it, but you will get a lovely clean room, delightful balcony with bags of local charm, lovely attentive staff, fantastic breakfast and within walking distance from the port (5-10 min walk along the seafront to the centre). This hotel is perfect as a weekend base to explore the local area.

The hotel had everything you could want for a one/two night stay including great free facilities such as WiFi, bathroom amenities and most importantly parking!! I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are doing a driving holiday as most hotels in the area charge up to 35 euros for a parking space - La Bastide du Port offers gated parking for free in central St Tropez - faultless.

Highly recommended for local charm, location & all round excellent service.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor to include a balcony, the cheaper rooms looking onto the garden are...
