A small hotel with basic but very clean and tidy rooms right in the centre of the old part of Valbonne. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and helped us out with our poor French!! The basic bedroom was small but did benefit from air con and the small shower room was immaculate. The hotel did have a small lift although getting to the property did require a small walk with luggage from a Free car park just a couple minutes away. The hotels front door walked straight out onto the main square and it was ideal as there are a good number of restaurants and bars that offered a good variety of food throughout the day into the evening. The noise levels were well contained by the double glazed windows. A super little small hotel for a couple of nights and the only thing that would of been nice (and I say this only from an English point of view) is that tea/coffee facilities may have been nice. Highly recommended for its central location alone.

Bonjour,
Thanks for taking your time to wright a comment about Les Armoiries.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you found our staff friendly and helpful.
We are of couse very proud over being in the heart of fabulous Valbonne and over our
newly renovated hotel.
Concerning the coffee/tea facilities it is something we already have in our Prestigeous rooms.

Booked this hotel last minute.
We stayed at this hotel for a night. We had the family room, as we are a family of 5. The room was big enough for us. The A/C was great, as it was very warm (over 30 degreee Celsius)

A very cosy and charming hotel indeed. Friendly staff and great location! Rue des Arcades just down the door.

We had an awesome stay and time.

Stayed here for three nights because of a business trip to Sophia Antipolis. Friendly personnel, very fresh newly renovated rooms, great selection of restaurants just outside the door and good communications to both Sophia Antipolis, Cannes, Grasse, Antibes and Nice. I will definitely return for my next trip!

We stayed at the Les Armoires for a three nights at the beginning of our trip to France, at the end of October, and used it as a base to explore the Cote d'Azur. We selected it because I had stayed at the hotel in the 1990's while travelling to Sophia-Antipolis for business. I knew what to expect, I fear some of the reviewers had expectations that the hotel could never meet.
First, the location is incredible. The village of Valbonne is very centrally located to the A8, to the cities on the coast and to the surrounding hills. It’s a charming place with plenty of good restaurants and stores nearby. We happened to be there on Halloween, and got to enjoy the town having their celebration on the town square. You do have to park on the outskirts of the village, which is common in the area, and for two nights we parked close in, and on Halloween we got back too late and had to park in the large overflow lot, which was the worst location, being a five-minute walk. We drove up to the hotel on the last day to pick up our luggage.
Now to the hotel. It’s a 500-plus year old building (I think) that has been lovingly converted into a hotel. The rooms are all different, not cookie-cutter at all, and all have individual style and charm. We had a prestige room on the 2’nd floor, which overlooked the main plaza of the town. It was loud on Halloween Night, so I can imagine it would also be loud on the weekends in the Summer, but things wrapped up by 11:00PM and we had no trouble sleeping. But if you are a very light sleeper though, request away from the square – as I recall the rooms are smaller. Our room had a comfortable bed, I’d say it was queen size, and a full bathroom, and windows in two directions bringing a lot of light. The furniture are antiques (at least by style), typical of what you expect in an Inn in a Village. We weren’t in the room much. There was a TV which we never turned on, and a mini-bar and tea-kettle. Internet service was excellent. The morning breakfast was great (full continental breakfast).
The staff at check-in on Sunday, and in the mornings, were friendly and attentive. The owners Richard and his wife (whose name I regret to have forgotten) worked the evenings and were great to talk to, and helped us with advice and dinner reservations.
We loved the location and the hotel, and would go back again.

Room Tip: Away from the Plaza if you are concerned about noise.
