We paid €165 per night for this bed and breakfast. The website compares the B&B to a 4 star hotel but without having to pay extra for things like a piece of cake or a glass of champagne and to be fair, we did receive a glass of something fizzy on arrival. The property, in a pretty garden is 3 kilometres from the town of Vence and the owner recommended good places to eat and booked tables for us.
We needed a rest and a treat so booked the suite. In fact the other rooms are not significantly cheaper. The accommodation had been renovated at some stage but was beginning to look tired although the bed was comfortable. There were no toiletries( just liquid soap in automatic dispensers) or robes, which you might hope for at this kind of price. At breakfast we were given half a croissant each and bread which had been frozen and reheated to its detriment. The orange juice was the cheapest processed type. There were homemade jams. We also had scrambled eggs as we do not enjoy meat and cheese at breakfast which was offered.
It is always good to come back and relax after a day's sightseeing. This proved difficult.
There was clearly some sort of accommodation below our bedroom where the television volume was turned right up throughout the day and not turned off until 11pm. Oh yes and the WIFI didn't work.
We were looking forward to a bit of pampering and we're writing this so that others seeing the price don't set their expectations too high. We could have spent our money better. If we had paid half this sum we might not feel so bad. Overall not good value for money.
