Hotel Floreal is a no-nonsense Best Western (and member of the Logis chain) on the main Grasse road on the outskirts of Vence. A walk to the centre of town is about 15 minutes.
Don't expect high luxury. The hotel rooms are OK; functional and fine for a few days stay. Not the place for a very special occasion, but the price is good for the facilties on offer. Breakfasts are a bit pricey, though, at 12 Euro per person.
The hotel serves dinner but Vence has loads of decent and varied restaurants, so unless it's pouring down or you are tired out, a walk into town is indicated.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly and will make dinner reservations for you if you are going somewhere special.
As I say, it's fine as a base for a short stay, and Vence is a splendid small town.

I stayed for a week with a group of young musicians.

Rooms were very basic but comfortable and clean. They varied in size - some very spacious whilst others were cramped . My room opened onto a terrace and the lawn - a nice area to relax.

The bathroom was clean and acceptable however the facilities were dated and rather tired.

The heated pool is quite small but pleasant and was always clean.

Breakfast buffet was good. Lunch and dinner consisted of three courses which were most enjoyable.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was a short walk from St. Paul-de-Vence, a classic french village/town which is well worth a visit.

Overall a pleasant stay, with good food and friendly staff.

I would not recommend this for a luxurious get-away, however it is perfect for a short stay to explore the local area.

Duriing our 3-week tour of Provence to celebrate our 40th anniversary, we made more effort than usual to select our hotels for their ambiance and location, in addition to cleanliness and reasonable price. Although Hotel Floreal was mentioned positively in several guidebooks, its Website makes the hotel look like it is in a lovely setting, and our generally good experience with Best Westerns in Europe, the hotel was a significant dissappointment.

First off, the hotel is unfortunately sitting in a depression. It was clean and generally comfortable, but the lobby was dark and dreary, and its hallways, rooms, pool area, and grounds were badly in need of care and attention. It had the feel of a very ordinary motel in its fading years, seriously in need of an upgrade. The hotel has its own "old Holiday Inn"-looking restaurant, but is not within easy walking of any other restaurants. Some, but not all, of the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Hotel Le Floreal in Vence while on a vacation in Provence and Toscana. The Best Western Hotel Floreal Is Situated Between The Sea And Mountains, 300 Meters From The Historical City Of Venice and about 20 minutes by car from the Airport Nice - Cote D'Azur.

Our room was comfortable and spacious with large windows opening out onto a terrace-overlooking the lawn and the heated pool ( see pictures). The Hotel has a free private car park, and Wireless Internet was available free of charge at the reception.
The hotel is situated a few minutes from St. Paul-de-Vence, one of the most beautiful villages in France (well worth a visit)

We had a buffet breakfast ( 10 euros) and had nothing to complain about during our stay. There are better hotels in Vence ( and more expensive), but , all in all, i can recommend it to anyone wanting a reasonably cheap hotel at a good location.

We were looking for a good value for money hotel in the Vence area and we were not disappointed. We wanted to stay here as our base for the Cote D'Azur as we've previously stayed in Cannes which was just too busy and expensive. We got a great deal for our 2 rooms at the Hotel Floreal off the BW website, No problems finding the hotel - it's on a main road heading north out of Vence. Despite the many steep hills in the area, the walk into the old centre of Vence (good choice of restaurants) was a pleasant 10-minute walk along level ground.

The hotel itself is a 1980's 3-storey building with approx 40 bedrooms, built into a small hollow just off the road, with free car parking for about 15 cars. There seemed to be alternative car parking in the immediate area if the hotel's car park was full.

The standard and appearance of the hotel's public areas were typical of small provincial hotels in France, perhaps rather well "lived in", but clean and welcoming. Our rooms were a good size and reasonably decorated, although the bathrooms could benefit from some updating (eg fixing the dripping taps). All rooms have a balcony, and the beds were comfortable, but if you really want a double bed, make sure you specify this clrealy at check-in or you may get two singles pushed together.

Breakfasts were served in a conservatory attached to the small bar/restaurant, and were a little pricey for the fairly typical basic French breakfast, though definitely more convenient than traipsing into town just for a croissant and coffee. We chose not to take evening meals in the hotel, preferring the old town, but there seemed to be a reasonably priced fixed price "formule" every night, with some takers.

The staff at the hotel were all professional and courteous throughout our stay and there is one dual-nationality receptionist who speaks fluent English if your French is really limited. All in all, a very pleasant stay. We left feeling sure we would return again if the attractive prices were available again. I give it four stars because of the value for money.
