“Very good”
Reviewed 20 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

I stayed here recently with my extended family. The entire process of booking the villa was simple and straight forward, Sasha the owner speaks perfect English and is very friendly. The Villa itself its in a very quiet suburb of Vence and is perfectly located for the historic locations of St Paul and Vence itself which are less than 15 minutes bus/car journey. We did walk to Vence one evening, it's uphill all the way there and around 30 minutes. There is a decent tennis club moments from the property with clay courts. I would say a car is essential with this property, the nearest decent supermarket is around 15 minute drive away and the only real option other for provisions is a small bakery which is 15 minute walk.

The nearest beaches are in Cagnes-sur-Mer, this is a busier coastal resort with a pebble beach. Unless you are planning to visit one of the private beach clubs there are much better places to explore locally in my opinion.

small thing we found - If you are travelling with children there is an excellent low-tech adventure park (http://www.leboisdeslutins.com) in a forest in the next village along less than 20 minute drive away. Tree houses, rope swings, slides, zip wires etc. We had an amazing day there, took a picnic and the children loved it. Was nice to see kids running around outside being active rather than glued to bits of technology.

The villa has a number of terraces that make the best of the views and the view across the swimming pool to the mountains is breathtaking. The property is well served with an excellent kitchen with modern induction hobs and decent ovens that leads on to a large open plan living area which has large dining table that easily accommodated 8 of us and large seating area which was ideal for family evenings and socialising. The bedrooms are of a good standard, the mattresses were a little hard for my own liking but this is personal preference I guess. Most bedrooms are en-suite and the bathrooms are modern enough and were spotlessly clean on our arrival, There was never a shortage of hot water or shower pressure even with all three bathrooms in use in the mornings. The pool area is very nice, with ample seating and sun loungers for large groups, the pool itself is salt water (no nasty chlorine eye sting) and deep enough to have a proper swim but small enough not to be too daunting for the smaller children that were in our group who were learning to swim. The pool area is also served by excellent pool-house and which had it's own bathroom and kitchen equipped with BBQ grill hobs, ice machine, large fridge - it has pretty much everything you need really for spending a lazy afternoons by the pool. There are lots of things to do, table tennis tables set up in one area of the garden, proper area for boules at the back of the house, the villa itself has a lovely garden with mature shrubs and flowers throughout with areas to sit in and play board games, afternoon drinks etc.

In conclusion, it's high quality property with great level of support from the owners in a lovely location, if you are looking for holiday in a quieter area in South of France away from the chaos of the beaches, this will be pretty hard to beat.

“WOW, WOW, WOW AMAZING”
Reviewed 20 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This villa lived up to our expectations and beyond. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Sasha and Frank, Sasha even collected our daughter and husband from the local train station. Their taxi driver picked us up from the airport and swept up the long driveway - what a vista. The villa was huge and able to accommodate the 8 of us easily. The kitchen was well equiped, hot and cold water on tap. The lounge/cinema area was fab - especially for the little ones - the seating arrangement was amazing. Bedrooms spacious with fans in all rooms. The pool was an essential requirement and didnt disappoint, very inviting, the robot cleaner did its thing every morning - so funny.
We all had a brilliant time in this little oasis in Vence. Highly recommend.
