Hotel La FLore

Stayed here last week for the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis. Yes it's a little tired, but cannot understand the negative reviews. It's not 5 star hotel but a 3 star and nothing wrong with that! It's good value and very clean with helpful & friendly staff. Ideally placed between Nice & Monaco away from all their associated hustle & bustle. There are great transport links by bus & train. If you are going to the tennis, my tip would be take the train and get off at the station after Monaco. Then it's a 10 minute walk along a beautiful coastal path, straight to the stadium.
Lots of bars & restaurants in VF village at reasonable prices. We couldn't fit it in but we were told to visit Eze which is supposed to be brilliant. Take the bus rather than train to avoid a rather extreme up and downhill walk.

The view from the room was great and the personel was very friendly. The standard of the room was average, and the tiled floors did not leave any sounds un-heard. It is situated a little outside the center of the city, but since it is a small city this is not a big issue.

The real positives, the view from the balcony, service from the lady at breakfast, service from the young lady at reception and the breakfast. Negatives for us were the room which really needs some TLC as does the hotel generally. It does have new owners, so time will tell. I hope they improve it, there was certainly some improvement taking place at the hotel next door.

We will check on trip advisor before next visiting area and would only book if we saw an improving trend in the ratings.

The hotel's location was not that great. The road to the village is quite steep and heavy to walk. Our room had a balcony with great views. The hotel and the rooms are not maintained well. The hotel and the rooms need extensive renovations and upgrading. The breakfast was good. The lady who served breakfast was super friendly and very pleasant.

This hotel has an ideal location to the bus stop, but not to the village restaurants by the sea. The views are great if you get a sea view. I had an attic room which was nice, but the elevator only goes to the second floor. I had to walk my luggage up the last flight of stairs. Most of the staff were helpful, but not all. It depends on who is at the desk at the time. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. I found it a clean hotel and better than some of the others in close proximity to it.

Superb location and very clean hotel. Rooms were adequate with good views. Only two members of staff being the lady serving at breakfast and a receptionist called Chantelle where helpful, smiley and friendly. The gents were unwelcoming, non caring and sullen. Outside of building especially signage could do with upgrading particularly the awful red neon border of lights around the building. Rather disappointing overall for the price.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a view and balcony.
