Stayed here last week for the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis. Yes it's a little tired, but cannot understand the negative reviews. It's not 5 star hotel but a 3 star and nothing wrong with that! It's good value and very clean with helpful & friendly staff. Ideally placed between Nice & Monaco away from all their associated hustle & bustle. There are great transport links by bus & train. If you are going to the tennis, my tip would be take the train and get off at the station after Monaco. Then it's a 10 minute walk along a beautiful coastal path, straight to the stadium.
Lots of bars & restaurants in VF village at reasonable prices. We couldn't fit it in but we were told to visit Eze which is supposed to be brilliant. Take the bus rather than train to avoid a rather extreme up and downhill walk.
