This place seems to be getting great reviews but I genuinely feel as though we had a slightly different experience with our three night stay. The room we stayed in - Ardoise - smelt really damp and was masked by timed air fresheners. The towels didn't get changed for fresh ones and they stayed wet throughout our stay in the rooms already damp atmosphere.... speaking of which the hosts Gérard and Geneviève didn't really seem like genuine hosts and we just felt awkward around them, especially when it came to settling the bill. I was informed by Gérard that it was "no cards - cash only" when I failed to notice the small print on their website, so I started panicking hoping to make up enough money to pay up… Luckily we did and Gérard's smile returned.

Considering our experience we decided not to use the pool or the rest of the house. I think if we were made to feel more welcome from the outset that we would've spent more time relaxing there but after the room being a bit disappointing it amounted to a feeling that we couldn't wait to leave.

So, if this is your first stay in Provence then I advise you to keep looking. In comparison, our first stop in Boulbon (just outside Avignon) was excellent for around the same price and we will definitely go back there again.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Ardoise.

A very luxurious B&B. We only stayed one night, but the house and the rooms were top notch. Modern bathrooms (although if traveling with friends, note there is no door between the shower and the bedroom, could be awkward). Located on a very quiet street outside Gordes. The breakfast was excellent. We were disappointed to miss the Table d'Hotes, as the kitchen was truly spectacular. Note that the hosts don't speak much English, though we didn't mind.

We stayed for two nights in the suite celadon & it was lovely - comfortable & spacious - beautifully decorated - the shower was wonderful.

breakfast which was included was very pleasant.

we didn't use the pool or the garden but they looked lovely.

we would certainly go there again although a word of warning the Moulin is not air conditioned - it was hot when we were there - about 36-38 maximum during the day & it was still warm at night. we did have a fan in the room but it wasn't sufficient for the second night & we had a fitful sleep.

We spent a week exploring the area which is beautiful with the fall colors and we staied six nights at Geneviève and Gerard's. They warmly welcomed us into their charming traditional "Mas" . It was a very old mill which produced olive oil. In the morning we took our breakfast (with delicious fruit preserves made by Gerard) in a large living room whose ceiling authentic beige stone of the region was fully bent. Our suite room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated in pastel shades of the region. This a place full of charm that is very well located. We will certainely go back to discover new small villages of this beautiful region.

After staying in dozens of hotels, chambre d'hotes and a few gites in the 9 weeks we had been travelling all over France you know when you've arrived somewhere out of the ordinary. The hosts are gracious and thoughtful, the rooms are superb and the breakfasts a delight. We also had a delicious dinner here one evening and it was really enjoyable. The restoration they have undertaken on the former olive oil mill is outstanding. Our only gripe was that we didn't realise that they didn't take credit cards but thankfully we had plenty of cash so avoided the embarrassment of having to drive the 5 km to Gordes to the hole in the wall. The swimming pool looked divine and even in late October seemed inviting! The house was full even so late in the season and all the other guests seemed extremely happy to be staying here.

I stayed at this B&B for two nights and loved it. It is outside the city center of Gordes but provides a cute and very local experience. The property is very chic with modern decor and they have an amazing kitchen. I had a very comfortable night's stay and enjoyed chatting with the host and hostess.

We stayed 3 nights at Le Moulin des Sources in September. After spending countless hours on the web looking for the best B&B in the area, we decided on this one and were delighted with the experience. The whole place is like a post card: the house, an old water mill, has been restored with great taste combining contemporary style with traditional style. We stayed in the Garance room: not the biggest, but really nice with an awesome shower!
Breakfast is...well...French, and that's great! Croissant, baguette, coffee, OJ, home made jams...a real treat!
The service is on par with 3 stars hotels: room is done every day and towels are changed! The courtyard in beautiful, the pool, garden and little terraces with amazing views are beyond one's expectations.
The location is perfect too: centrally located to all major sites/villages. The owner, Gerard, is the best host! Professional and friendly, he knows the area very well and gave us numerous advice and tips. He makes himself available to his customers and was very helpful. He organized an amazing bike ride for us in the Nesque Valley (a truly unbelievable day!). We also experience Gerard "Table d'hotes": an amazing 5 courses dinner in the courtyard with the other guests.
All in all, a top notch experience with top of the line service! Can't wait to go back!
