This hotel was close to the town centre and motorway junction
Very friendly and helpful staff , both breakfasts and evening meals were good value .
However the bedrooms were somewhat small but adequate

As on many stays before in this hotel the personal and service was excellent but the rooms interior could use some upgrading they appears a bit overused.. Excellent safe parking. Breakfast of good quality and good selection, but main meal still could need some improvement.

The hotel was in a good location quite near to the town of Orange and within easy walking distance. The parking arrangements are good and secure. The staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was very good. We would return again if in the area.

I have used this hotel a number of times in the past, the last being in 2005, when I would have rated it one of the best Ibis hotels in France. Not any more. I have stayed in Ibis's in Rouen, Amiens and Chartres this year besides this one and Orange Centre is the worst of the Four by a country mile. The decor is old and tired while the restaurant is now a really unpleasant experience. The waitress was uninterested, slow and hostile. Seven years ago there was a beautiful conservatory as part of the dining room with a tree whose branches ran beneath the roof. The conservatory is still there but there was no encouragement to use it (no tables were set) and the tree is almost dead, it would seem through lack of watering. The other change for the worse is the swimming pool. This was a very pleasant place to sit in the shade and relax after the motorway even if swimming isn't your thing. Now a 3-4ft high safety barrier has been put all round the pool giving a claustrophobic effect more appropriate to Bates Motel than a hotel in Provence. In fairness this may be some region-wide Health and Safety nonsense since I have seen something similar in another hotel in Vaison. Whatever, the barrier ruins the whole area. I didn't see any of the rats in the garden reported in another review, but I 'm not at all surprised by that report.

Having said all this, the advantages of this hotel remain formidable. Nicely placed for an over-night stop when driving home from Spain. Just off the Motorway but reasonably quiet, within easy walking distance of Orange town centre with a mass of Roman ruins and good restaurants. A large, secure car park. A good centre for touring the vineyards out towards Vaison and Mount Ventoux. Bear these advantages in mind when considering this hotel. Just don't use the restaurant.
