We stayed in a Duplex Suite located on the 5th floor. It had a tiny little balcony which was big enough to sit on and enjoy the view and to people watch. The room was big and spacious with the bedroom upstairs. There was 1.5 bathrooms, so no need to go up and down the stairs.

Location was very central so easy to walk or take public transport anywhere we wanted to go. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of glitches, but nothing to speak of. I would like to praise the staff during breakfast. Always smiling and nothing was too much trouble.

The reason for the average rating was an issue we had was with booking. We booked directly on the Accor Website. All the way through the booking process, the price was in GBP. When my husband paid, he was charged in EUR for the entire stay (along with a hefty exchange charge). We have an international card that we would have used had we known this would happen. My husband made several calls and emails to both the hotel and the Accor main booking switchboard. He asked that they reimburse the payment and allow us to pay with the other card. They refused again and again. In the end, they didn't accept responsibility for this, but offered us a voucher to be used at the hotel.

I work in this industry and was appalled at their lack of services or willingness to assist us. We did have a lovely stay in Marseille and did not allow this to ruin our holiday. I would think twice about booking with Accor again.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the port have great views!

Next to all the city action, with quick walks to nearby shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities were great and the hotel was very clean and well kept. Right next to metro for easy access to train. The bar and restaurant inside overlook the marina and the sunset is beautiful.

Large imposing hotel in an excellent location overlooking the harbour of the old port.
Does not quite make it into the really Grand category as it is functional rather than luxurious.
Very good breakfast selection.
Excellent for location and breakfast, but functional on style.

My partner and I spent 4 fantastic days at this beautiful hotel. If you can, splurge on the duplex suite with a view of the old port. When we walked into the room, we felt as though we had died and gone to heaven. Everything about this room was "Superbe"!! The view, the amenities (free sodas, water, juice and even candy!). An upstairs and downstairs closets and toilets. Retractable skylights in the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Plus dozens of more thrills and surprises. The first thing we did after unpacking was order up a bottle of Rosé wine and charcuterie tray to enjoy on the balcony overlooking the harbor. True elegance!! I highly recommend a stay at this hotel for anyone visiting Marseille. The staff spoke perfect English and were completely patient with my horrible French! The location could not have been more "central". Restaurants, entertainment, tours....EVERYTHING was right there! We will be back!

Room tip: Get the duplex suite on the top floors for the best view in Marseille!
