Hotel is about ten minute walk from the port of Marseille . Room was pleasant and bathroom very well appointed and clean . Balcony was a disappointment as no sun after about 10am . Drinks/food pricey and hotel had a corporate business type feel to it . Gym and sauna were out of commission when we went and this was disappointing as the signage wasn't clear at reception that it was for the full week . Printer wasn't working for five days ? Bar prices were very high .
I would return to Marseille but would definitely find somewhere closer to the main city centre with a bit more charm and character .
Having said all of above if you want an experience that has that well worn corporate feel the Sofitel ticks all the boxes for quality of linen, fixtures and fittings and smart piano bars . Helpful and pleasant staff .
