Nice hotel, not far from the centre. Very nicely furnished. The room was quiet and pleasant, we could sleep with the window open.
Some members of the staff were really helpful, others not that much.
The breakfast was gorgeous!

I just stayed a couple nights in this hotel with my wife in 2014.
The hotel is perfectly located in Marseille and the service was very professionnal and attentive.
A definite plus is the nice cafe located downstairs with delicious tarts and cakes and a great breakfast.
Useful Tip: The hotel has recently changed owners and some the pictures on Tripadvisor are apparently from before the refurbishment. My wife and I are from New York and are very picky with cleanliness and to be fair is was all top grade.
I would definately recommend this hotel.

Speaking concerning this hotel, I want to be fair. It has very nice, carefull and very friendly personnel. I would like to express them my sincere gratitude for their assistance and work. Also the room has air condition that is also good.
But this is not the hotel for those who get adjusted to conventional hotels. Photos are nice but reality is opposite. It makes for me disappointing impression. The hotel was under the repair but it is not satisfactory. The walls and selling inside look like old and scuffed. All seems to be looking in dramatic conditions. If you have big bag it would be hard for you to get in the elevator (since it is extremely small, it is area than 1 square meter). The reception and café works only up to 22 00 that is very uncomfortable. Especially if you are thirsty and would like to buy the water after 22 00. However the water in the bathroom was good and I was happy that I was able to drink it.
My room was extremely small. It was the solo room, but it is the smallest room in the hotels I ever saw. It was hard for me to get adjusted to such a conditions. It was not enough room to comfortable place all my luggage. To Table was extremely small, it was hard to work on the computer. Consequently they do not have desk for ironing. The internet connection was available only in one point in the room and disappeared in others.
However truly speaking , many hotels in Marseille are ugly and provides price incomparable with level of comfort an service
Speaking concerning breakfast. For 9 Euro It provides a big choice of cakes but I saw only one type of meat. I have canceled it. Better to take BigMac in MacDonalds which is very close to the hotel.
The district is not very pleasant for me, but is the matter of taste. Fairly speaking it is not far from old port and metro station. But If you get adjusted to wide and light streets, this hotel is not for you. Since it is placed on very narrow and quite dark avenue. I wonder if it is safely to go in this dark street alone.
I would like to cancel the hotel in the moment of my arrival, however most of other hotels were sold out during the days of my visit
Buy the way, I spent some nights in the 3*** hotel Mercure in Nice in 2006. For 120 Euro it provided big and comfortable room and good breakfast, nice location and left very positive impression.
Finally, I want to conclude if you young, active person who likes travel and prefers comfort, it is not the hotel for you. If your budget is not very strict, I would recommend you than to stay at 4* Novotel near Perier metro station. It is new and has very good breakfasts. Prices are not drastically different.

The hotel is clean and comfortable certainly. It is an old building but has been renovated in the recent past and the rooms are modern in design.
It's a personal feeling but I think the hotel lacks character and it has perhaps been over-designed. Too trendy!
My main complaint is the breakfast. I really would not recommend anybody to bother with it. It was overpriced at 9 euros; the choice was limited, any meat or cheese was processed and the bread, only seemed to consist of wrapped, dry toast. No croissants in a French hotel! The coffee came out of a machine. A more satisfying breakfast could be had locally much cheaper.

I can strongly recommend the Edmond Rostand where I sayed for a few nights with friends. It is clean, comfortable and my room on 3rd floor at the front was not noisy. I could admire the washing on the rooftop of a typical French 4-storey building terrace opposite! The hotel is in an area of the city with many quality antique shops and a 5 minute walk from Prefecture metro, about 15 mins from the Vieux Port and Conobiere. Good buses nearby too and with a carnet easy to get around.

;ust spent the last 2 nights there. Great budget solution, rooms small but clean, lobby very stylish, comfy and inviting. Great location off a quite highend shopping street and close to dandy area. Very conveniently situated to move around. Breakfast does not offer massive selection but food and drinks are good quality. Would def recommend

We are currently taking a 6 month sabbatical and are cost conscious when reserving hotels however in this case the economy of the hotel did not translate into economy of service. Clean and bright within easy reach of the metro system and key attractions. The hotel offered all that we needed.
