“Excellent choice”

My wife and I spent one here before our cruise. We were very impressed with the apartment hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, soft beds, clean, nice kitchen area witch included Microwave oven, kettle and coffee and even a mini-dishwasher for the lazy (but smart) people. There are 2 metro stations close by and the old harbor is about a 10min walk. We will definitely recommend Residhome.

The accommodation was very good bit the trip was spoiled by no working air conditioning. Very hot and humid at night which was very difficult and uncomfortable. We asked if we could borrow a fan but were told there were none. We were there for three night and was pleased to leave. There was also a lot of dust in the apartment behind doors, etc. The area near the station where the hotel was did seem very run down and there was a lot of heavy building work taking place. The area did not do justice to the hotel building. The receptionists were mostly very helpful.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and were given a very spacious apartment on the top floor with great views...

Very easy : the parking facilities: they have their own garage (closed boxes), just ask a key upon arriving. It's not the kind of neighbourhood to leave your car outside. We got a free upgrade, because when we arrived at 3.30pm our room was not yet ready. Our apartment was very clean, everything was new. The bathroom was huge. We were on the fourth floor, and it was nice and quiet for such a big city. The Old Port is only ten minutes walk away, the walk takes you through a colourful, busy multicultural street. At night the street is quiet, and despite what some might fear, felt really safe. Kitchen was small, not really enough room to cook a meal, rather suited to heat up things. Pets are allowed in the hotel. We heard a dog barking (fortunately not at night) and saw one leaving something behind in the corridor. Makes you wonder about the carpet there.

A very good choice for a budget conscious stay in Marseille. It is a five minute walk from St Charles railway station and metro. The receptionists are pleasant and helpful.

The apartment had a small kitchen with a fridge, a double hotplate, a microwave and a dishwasher. It had basic plates, utensils etc. Our sixth floor apartment had a big balcony with a table and chairs giving good views of the nearby building site (!) but also views of the city, the sea and the mountains.

The living accommodation was more than adequate with a good sized bathroom - excellent shower. The apartment had efficient air conditioning and free WIFI.

The surrounding area is not particularly affluent. You need to be a bit thoughtful about handling mobile phones etc in public - but this is the same in any big city and we had no problems at all.

The apartment is well placed for easy walking to all the main attractions - a 15 minute walk to the Vieux Port. There is an excellent boulangerie close to the station for your daily baguette.

I am happy to recommend this budget friendly choice to anyone wishing to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Marseille.

Very clean and comfortable. Receptionists very helpful. I had a problem and needed their help to talk in fluent French with the locals over phone...and they were very courteous. Big spacious bathroom, a small kitchen, nice room and a comfy bed...not to mention free Wi-Fi. A great breakfast for 10 Euros, for those who are staying for 1 night a good option as was our case.

Very near to the train station for those coming by TGV, but is a 12 to 15 minutes walk to the old port.

The hotel rooms were clean and spacious, the bedding most comfortable, and the free wi-fi superfast. The corridors smelled like tobacco smoke, but the rooms themselves did not. My husband, adult daughter and I stayed here and so I'm basing this on the two rooms we had (on two different floors). The hotel is in a great location to explore Marseilles, but will probably be more enjoyable once the construction across the street from it is completed. We paid the 8 Euro fee for parking and were so surprised by the security of the parking garage - garages, actually. Upon checking in they give you a fob and two keys on a key ring. You will use the fob to open the outside garage door on the parking garage. Once inside, you will look for your assigned parking garage - yes, a garage within a garage. You will open this door with one of the keys on the ring and after parking your car you again lock the garage door. Pretty secure to be sure. Upon exiting the garage you will use the second key to open the gates to exit the garage walkways so you can enter the street, adjacent to the hotel. All this as a security measure made me wonder about the neighborhood, especially since it looked a bit run down and is very near the train station. But, safety wasn't a problem. We walked to dinner that night and returned home about 11:30 p.m. - and felt very safe in doing so.

The hotel offered breakfast for 10 Euro per person but we elected not to do that and instead grabbed a croissant and coffee at the brasserie across the street from the train station.
