How else can you describe someone who runs a restaurant this good single-handed? Small - only 16 seats if I counted correctly. Very small menu - at lunchtime two starters, three main courses and two desserts. But all of it perfect. Not only does the owner cook, serve at table, answer the phone, deal with takeaways, but he also manages to take the time to talk to customers, explain the menu and generally give the impression that he is under no pressure at all. As a lesson in time management and organisation it is a masterclass! Not in the most touristy part of Marseille but not difficult to find if you know where you are going. Not expensive. Just in case it sounds as if I was more impressed with the organisation than the food, can I say that the salmon I had was probably the best cooked salmon I have ever tasted. The polenta was great. The tomato salad starter was amazing. Perfect.
