Great location, friendly staff

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Sept 2016
Hotel is located 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 min walk to Vieux Port in opposite direction. Modern friendly hotel where all staff were very friendly - special mention to Dania? (hope I have her name correct) on reception who was extremely helpful in helping arrange train tickets and was always happy and friendly.
Pool is small, but not an issue for us in September as rarely anyone in it - and pool water was fresh and clean. Pool towels available from bar.
Supermarket within 5 min walk - bellboy advised where it was.
Slight issue with broken tiles in our bathroom floor which were repaired almost immediately - disappointing that they had not thought to do repair beforehand.

Not having been in Marseille before, I wanted an affordable hotel not far from the old port. With wifi, airco and pool. The room feels spacious. The pool has umbrellas and sunbeds. The staff removed the items from the fridge, and we have our own things for breakfast. There are two busses nearby that go to the port and train station. The walk to the port goes past hughway like bits, but cross to the other side and the port is some 10-15 minutes away.

Hotel is located in the Vieux Port at walking distance to the old part of the city and there is also a beach and Vallon des Auffes on the other side with excellent seafood restaurants. Hotel was very clean and everyone was very friendly and helpfull. We haven't had dinner but breakfast was awesome. The decor in the hotel is very artsy, something you won't see everyday. I will reccomend this place to my friends.

Lovely modern, funky, boutique hotel but with a bit of old fashioned charm to it too.

The hotel entrance and reception is situated in the old Louis Pasteur Institute which has been lovingly and sympathetically modernised inside and leads you into the main hotel area which is of relatively new and modern construction. The whole place is adorned with interesting art works and although the main hotel colours seem to be black and white there are splashes of bright colours everywhere.

The food in the restaurant was superb, and I can especially recommend the Sunday brunch, which was excellent value for money.

Good sized rooms, clean, comfortable and modern. A pleasant outdoor pool and lounge area and all really good value for money in terms of room rates.

Situated within short walking distance of the old port but just far enough away from the main city to feel out of the hustle and bustle this was a perfect find for our first visit to Marseille. Would definitely come back again.

Room tip: Some of the higher rooms with views overlooking the pool can also provide a view of the old port area

I had read many reviews on this hotel before going there. It received mixed reviews. I stayed there for 11 days and I think that I had the best room in the house. It was 4th floor facing the pool in the corner. The room was terrific. I paid for the superior room with the balcony. It was worth the upgrade. The service was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool area was nice. My air conditioner worked fine. all in all it was a wonderful stay and I would recommend the hotel. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been a softer bed and softer pillows.

It was a whirlwind trip to Marseille which we did little but the hotel was definitely a high point of the trip as it was a very lovely stay.

The suite room had good bedding and amenities well thought to ensure guests get restful sleeps and home comforts with a large balcony, sitting area and a big bathroom with his-and-her wash basins, bathtub and a separate showers stall. The bar and cafe serves high quality F&B too.

We had private transport to everywhere so I am unsure how conveniently located the hotel is but by car it was a short car ride to the Le Vieux Port and the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Gardeost. Within walking distance are the Endoume and the Vallon Des Auffes villiage where lovely restaurants are found. There is a Carrefour nearby, 5 mins away by walking.

Will stay here again when I come back to Marseille.
