“Idyllic setting, perfect base for touring”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

Agree with other very complimentary reviews. Idyllic setting, pleasant outdoor dining (so nice and such excellent food that we ate here 4 evenings in a row). Very nice corner room in the main building with a modernized bath. From this location it was easy to access Avignon, Arles, St. Remy, and the lower areas of the Luberon. We would tour all day, stopping always for a pleasant and lingering lunch, but returning to the home base so we didn't have to drive after dark.

Hey roll managed hotel, with very cooperative management and staff. Not inexpensive, but highly recommended.

I have never stayed in such a fantastic hotel, everything about it was simply amazing. It is a luxury place, rather expensive (but not bad value considering what you get) and quite imposing when you first enter, but the staff are simply so friendly and welcoming and they put you very much at ease. Breakfast was wonderful, everything so fresh and warm, right down to the delicious home mad jams with the warm croissants and pains au chocolat. We lunched by the pool once which was also superb, but the dinner was one of the best meals I've ever had. Simply wonderful and I can't wait to go again, I can't recommend the Chateau des Alpilles highly enough.

We stayed for 3 nights at this property last month. I had originally planned to stay for four nights, but we had to rearrange our dates, and a fourth night was not available. We absolutely loved this peaceful oasis in Provence. The rooms, amenities, grounds, chef, and especially the staff are superb. Our charming room was on the 1st floor of the Chateau (one floor up from the main) and overlooked the large koi pond to the side/back of the property. We are already talking about going back for a longer stay. We had fabulous food throughout our 2+ week vacation in France, but I think my favorite dinners were the two nights we dined at Le Chateau des Alpilles. The restaurant was unfortunately closed on the third night of our stay. We will never again stay anywhere else when visiting Provence.

One thing to keep in mind is that this Chateau is family and kid-friendly. While we were traveling as a couple, many of the guests were families, some with small children. We enjoy seeing little ones and we noticed that all of the children there appeared to be very well-behaved. I mention this for those who may prefer an adult-oriented property.

Our family sty at Le Chateau des Alpilles was simply wonderful. The Chateau, the staff, the grounds and the atmosphere all made for a memorable experience. We had two rooms in the Chateau and one at The Loft. Everyone was happy. The Loft is located in a separate building behind the Chateau and is furnished in more of a contemporary style. The staff is so friendly it is a pleasure. Parking is very easy. The area outside of Saint-Remay is quiet, beautiful and enhances the feeling of the Chateau. The entrance with the plane trees gracing the driveway makes you hope you return. It is a special place.

We had 6 nights at the Chateau, and enjoyed every minute of our time there, using it as a base from which to visit towns in the area. The staff was fabulous, especially Celine and Jules... and everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home. We had a corner room on the top floor of the main house, complete with bathroom with a separate shower stall. Other guests told us they come year after year, and we understand why. We are hoping to come back again, too. One suggestion--not all room availabilities are posted on the internet. Calling the hotel will get you the most up to date information.

Wonderful hotel in beautiful setting
Luxury room was large and well equipped. Comfortable bed and modern bathroom. Shame there was no separate shower cubicle
Food very good and service unobtrusive but efficient and friendly. Warmer service than I have experienced at other luxury chateaux hotels. Pool area beautiful and peaceful and loungers very comfortable. Only slight criticism is that breakfast was expensive and service at breakfast rather haphazard unlike at other times.
Would definitely go back

We loved our 5 nights in Provence and were reluctant to leave for Paris. The service was excellent beginning with the reservation process through Celine and continuing with all other staff. Everyone was very helpful and gracious. We were travelling with our two children ages 10 and 14 and this was their favorite hotel out of 4 very nice European properties. The grounds and the swimming pool were amazing. The rooms were well appointed and immaculate. Linens, etc great. Saint Remy is a delightful town and the location ideal. We canoed to Pont du Gard, drove to Gordes, visited nearby Senanque Abbey Amongst the lavender fields, Le Beaux and Art Show in the modern caves. I highly recommend doing all of the activities and can't wait to return. Thank you to the hotel for this very memorable stay.
