“A lovely place to stay in Saint Remy the Provence”
Reviewed 19 May 2013

La Maison de Line is a wonderful place, just a 5 minute walk from the center of Saint Remy. We were warmly welcomed by the new owners, Louis & Myriam. They were very happy to tell us about all the different things to do in and around Saint Remy.
We stayed in the guesthouse named 'Ange' and it was absolutely lovely. It was beautifully decorated and it was spotlessly clean. We also spent many hours lounging around and in the pool.
The roses smelled fantastic and we used to love sitting outside in the evenings enjoying it all.
We will definitely be coming back again!

The property is very lovely and peaceful. It's perfect if, like us, you enjoy your privacy (no cleaning service). The location is convenient but the walk to town is along a very busy road. Our unit, A'Cote, was full of light and roomy. However, each morning, we did wish the windows had more than just sheer curtains (very bright). Also, the living area seating is a bit uncomfortable. There are only 2 wicker-like chairs with one cushion each. This is the same furniture they use in the pool area. And, If you plan to cook, the kitchen utensils and tools are lacking. Of course, there are many wonderful restaurants in town. It seemed as though our unit hadn't been completed. So, perhaps the other units are different. These things probably wouldn't matter for a short stay but for 7 nights they really do.

Welcoming, charming, spacious, beautiful, private, relaxing, attentive, exquisite, and authentic only begin to describe the wonder of this property and Bruno and Francoise, the owners. This is not a hotel! It is a series of beautiful rooms and apartments, intimately arranged over their property. We were graciously upgraded to an apartment... kitchen, sitting area, large bedroom and bath and a private patio. Each morning, Bruno leaves a fresh, warm baguette and croissants on the table outside our door. And then there is the pool(see my pics). After a week of traveling, it was nice to relax one afternoon around this enormous pool of DaVinci proportions (1:1.618). Free parking, they are fluent in english, it is a short 10 minute walk to St. Remy. If you find yourself traveling to this area, I strongly suggest considering La Maison de Francoise!

Room Tip: Upgrade to an apartment.... so worth it!

This was our second visit to La Maison de Francoise and it was simply perfect. It's a stunningly beautiful property with lovely landscaping and the best of all the host and hostess. We have stayed both times in the Abeles cottage which is perfect for us. Quiet, well-equipped, and our hosts provided us with anything else we needed. When we arrived we were given a list of local events and sights which was very helpful. From the property you can walk or bicycle all over Saint-Remy which is my preferred location in Provence. The town is perfect, fun, and interesting. There are many good restaurants and shops and a great weekly outdoor market. La Maison de Francoise is very secure too and there is ample secured parking which is easily accessed. The fragrance of Jasmine and roses pervades the air and it is so nice to come back to after a day of sightseeing. The pool and pool house are completely lovely. Thank you Bruno and Francoise for a lovely stay, once again, and we look forward to our return.

You would think that Bruno and Francoise had just opened their B&B business, their attitude is so refreshing and they are so keen to please. A charming couple who love what they do, they are rightfully proud of their home and accommodation and they will go out of their way to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Not sure what the previous reviewer meant about housekeeping it was spot on for us, who wants their towels and sheets changed every day anyway.... ..clearly they have never heard of global warming.

A great location only 3 minute walk into St Remy de Provence. They have lovingly built a superb business that I would defy anyone not to enjoy staying at.

We have just returned to Australia following 2.5 weeks in Europe and 5 lovely days at La Maison de Francoise in St Remy -de- Provence. Bruno and Francoise are amazingly attentive and helpful hosts. No request was too much. The home, rooms and gardens are exquisite. Bruno and Francoise provided accurate information on restaurants, food, services, shopping and local attractions. The fact that Bruno speaks excellent English was also most helpful. The home is a very short and easy 5-10 minute walk into the middle of St Remy. We had a B and B room ( a very good size for 2 people) with a lovely bathroom and would love to return to one of the self contained houses with our family. The swimming pool and carparking facilities were great. The breakfast was also very good.

I would agree with most of the earlier comments about the high quality of the surroundings, pool, location, friendliness etc., however, it seems the owners need to improve on some of the basics. The main problem was housekeeping, or the lack of it. We stayed for four nights and the bed linen and towels were not changed once, and the room wasn’t cleaned. I asked about this, but nothing happened except that we received a couple of fresh towels. It may have been an oversight and untypical, but this spoiled an otherwise very pleasant stay. Also, if you are offered the Mistral room, avoid it unless you are on a tight budget. Admittedly, it only costs a 100 euros/night, but it’s small, has no terrace or balcony, and overlooks a lumber yard.
