“Lovely people, good hotel”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

We stayed here (two adults, two teenagers, four bikes) as part of a bike tour of Provence, having come over the Alpilles from Baux (great cycle!). The hotel is not over-fancy, but clean, friendly and modern, with a nice pool. Easy parking, if you have a car, and good bike storage. Breakfast was plentiful.

The couple who run the hotel are lovely - they drove us the couple of kms into town and picked us up again after a good dinner (for very little money!), and were a pleasure to deal with in every way. I'd certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: It's a fair way out of town - but don't let that worry you, as the owners are happy to bring...

We were touring around Provence by bicycle. We rented the bikes in Avignon and St. Remy was our first stop - a nice half-day ride away from Avignon, partially on bike trails. We heard about this place at the tourist information center after asking for the cheapest accomodation in or very near to town! This place is 2 km's outside of St. Remy, a little jewel of a town. We paid 40 Euros for one night in November. Off season accomodation is cheaper but it can be hard to find places that are open! The host of this place was very nice and hospitable. She spoke a little English. We did not have her breakfast. It was a simple and small, very basic room. But clean and welcoming. My only warning is that it is RIGHT ON a busy street. If possible, you might ask for a room around the back. Looks like a nice place in summer with a swimming pool for families, just beware of kids and road noise near this very busy road. They allowed us to store our bikes in their shed out back. They even offered to take us into town and pick us up if we wanted to go in to town for dinner - so that we would not have to ride our bikes in the dark. It was a very kind and generous offer.

We arrived In St Remy when it was still quite busy and this was the only hotel available which could do a 3(2 adults & Child). Although it was a little basic, the owner was very helpful and gave us two rooms near each other for 40 euros each. The rooms were clean and tidy with separate bathrooms and a little porch. You were not allowed to eat in the rooms but there was a lovely terrace area near reception that was just fine, this is where you were served a lovely continental breakfast. Our daughter also loved the pool after a long hot day exploring the countryside. The hotel, more like a motel, was about 2kms out of St Remy on the way to Cavallion and although it was on a busy road the traffic reduced to very little at night so was not really a problem. We found the lovely owners made up for what the motel was lacking in luxury!
