Hotel Novotel Annecy Centre Atria

Typical Novotel. But a spacious room with sofa. Clean and pretty identical to most of the Novotel chain. The location of the hotel is right (seemingly on top of) next to the train station. We heard/felt a couple of major trains move and shake the building and thought we would be up for a disaster night but in the end that was it. It was really quiet the rest of the time and we never had a problem sleeping (We stayed 7 nights). The hotel is located relatively close to the city centre. It is about a 5 minute walk to the centre of Annecy, and may 15 minutes to the lake. We found most of the best restaurants in the town centre (Had great Savoir food at Le Chalet).
There is no gym, internet is good, and the room was of good size. Everything is clean, and works well.
Nothing more really to say about this hotel. It is an Accor hotel, and registering my Accor number was not hard (Not that accor club gives you much anyway!)

For a business hotel, it is done well. Breakfast is satisfactory - nothing special. Suits the purpose.

Room Tip: Room 314 had a view of the underground train tracks. Interesting, but nothing special after a day.

toilet door hinges squeaked and would also need foam strips to deaded boast sound when closing .no toilet brush to clean toilet bowl after use ,embarrising, the resturant were sold out of all red wine under 30 euro ,the gourmet menu which we had purchaced on line was very restricted, we felt it would have been better not to have been offered this menu ,however the reception and resturant staff did make ammends which made up for our disapointment . This was my third stay here. The hotel straddles the railway line at the station. Works to build new rail, coach and bus station have been substantially completed since I was there a year ago.

The hotel, though slightly older, is modern construction too and has many Novotel features. I had room 318 which was in good condition. The convertible settee complemented the double bed so could have accommodated more than just me.

The toilet and bathroom were, as usual in Novotels, separate. The bath had the familiar half-circular shower inset in it. I find that this works well,

The room was too hot when I arrived (a not-infrequent problem in Novotels) and I left the window open all afternoon while working in town, in order to cool it down

The hotel has introduced an extra breakfast formula: rolls, juice, yogurt and coffee for €8. I liked that and thought it good value. I do not usually want full buffet breakfast.

I paid in advance €106 for the room. That was good value for the town. I will stay again next year if I have to do the same business visit.

Room Tip: Rooms over the railway line have nice view but are not noisy

I could not have wished for a more friendly and helpful and friendly service. This was a short stay but all of our expectations were met. The location is great for Annecy centre but the location is near to a rail line so we heard the occasional rumble of a train.

Before to reach the Three Valleys ski resort, we usually spend a night at the Atria Novotel Annecy. It is central with walkable access to shops and restaurant. It is a good solution for family stop after a long journey.
