We stayed 2 nights here in our camping car, and it was fabulous! We were able to choose our camp site and had uninterrupted views of the spectacular mountains. It's about a 10 minute walk to Lake Annecy and we caught the boat to Annecy for the day. We would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone interested in camping in France.

This was our first camping expedition into France, a 23 day trip, spending 10 nights at La Ravoire Camping in the latter stages. We chose this site as part of our booking through the Camping & Caravan Club, mainly because of its location within the Alps; we are both keen walkers and love mountains. And what a wonderful place the campsite is! Small, with a mixture of a few lodge type accommodation, static holiday tents, and mobile pitches. The pitch size was more than enough for our 6 berth Airbeam tent and large car, and a tree close by provided us with the shade - it was over 30C most days!

And the team that runs the place - fantastic. Julie, the manager, was such a lovely lassie, and British although had been in France for a few years. Nothing was too much trouble (although we had no trouble!), always a pleasant smile from her, and would sit and chat on an evening outside the bar at the poolside. Damian, a young(ish) relative of the French owners I believe, would be everywhere - running the bar, gardening, cleaning, serving in the shop ....... and always with a smile and chat. The other staff member we had contact with was Patrick, another fun guy, who although said he didn't speak good English, it was far superior our French!

The facilities were excellent and always clean, and we never had to wait for a toilet or showers. The bar served evening meals, and although only ate there once, what we had was delicious, and on a couple of occasions Damian produced portions of chips while we were having an evening drink .......... on the house!

And the location? If you love mountains, water activities, cycling, sightseeing, or just 'chilling out' Camping La Ravoire is a perfect place to choose. At the southern end of lake Annecy, it is away from the built up area of Annecy, with easy access to the lake for the boat to Annecy, and road network for touring by vehicle. It is certainly on the agenda for our next French Adventure.

We flew to Geneva from Gatwick and the easy 40 mins drive to La Ravoire was easy until we reached Lake Annecy and WOW the views of the turquoise lake on a sunny day took my breath away as well as my eyes off the road! had to pull over and stare at the lake and the mountains in the background. Even after 7 days I still couldn't believe the beauty of the place. Stunning. La Ravoire is a short walk from the Lake itself. The park was very well run. We especially loved sending the children to fetch early morning fresh baguettes & croissants each day. We stayed in a 2 bed EuroCamp mobile home which was basic but fine. We had to ask for a couple of blankets the first night as the cold air did come up through the floor of the caravan. The reps were very helpful as was the female Manager of the park - lots of great tips of where to go with the children etc. We took up her advice and spent the day in Chamonix and took the cable car up to the top of the Aguille du Midi which was an experience not to be missed well worth the £120 for a family of four ticket. Our children boy & girl aged 8 and 10 enjoyed meeting and playing with the other children on the site English, French and Polish.

Room Tip: The EuroCamp 2 bedroom mobile home was situated in a quiet part of the park - just a 2 mins walk to...

My husband and I stayed for 13nights from the beginning of September. Delightful site small and friendly. So convenient for lake and cycle track. Wonderful scenery, and close to Annecy and mountain villages. We stayed in a Eurocamp mobile home which was spotless and well equipped. Colin & Karen our eurocamp host were always around and very helpful and friendly. Julie on reception also was ready to answer and help with any of our queries about the area. Again all staff very friendly and welcoming. Thank you all for a lovely break in your beautiful part of the world. Hope to visit again some time.

We went to La Ravoire on a recommendation. What we liked - personal service from reception and staff - never had to wait for anything. All self contained - nice pool and slide, Great little play area and football pitch. High quality entertainment 2 nights a week. Close to the cycle trail (2 minutes). All the kids quickly got to know eachother and made their own fun. Relaxed feel - quiet by 10pm and everyone very respectful. Mostly Brits.

Room Tip: We had pitch 46 which was quite shaded and cool in the mornings - if you are arriving on spec, go fo...

We stayed here for three nights with our two daughters (aged 8 & 10).

Yes, the campsites aren't the biggest you'll find, but it was big enough for our tent and car. Very good facilities, which were always nice and clean. Our children enough the pool and slide. The staff were very helpful and the receptionist spoke English.

You do want a car, as it's not beside the lake and the nearest beach is nothing special. However as a base to explore the local area, then it is a great spot.
