My husband and I stayed here three times in the early 2000's, loved the hotel & the food. Then it was closed for "Remodeling" when we were back the last few times. We were afraid that it would have been ruined by updating and stayed elsewhere. We went in to look around as I was shopping for somewhere special to have my B-day dinner. The lobby was lovely and we were greeted warmly, so we made a reservation. The whole place has been tastefully renovated, with bits of the original hotel carefully blended to something more modern. The entire wait staff was especially friendly and work smoothly as a team. The food is excellent, the entree with Cavier displayed as a bunchs of grapes is a thing of beauty, the cheese cart will make you swoon. Huge wine list.Handcrafted cocktails. If you can't afford to stay here splurge on a meal or order a bar snack and a drink in the lovely setting, the bar staff is fun to talk to. We will be back, and stay here next time. Do everyone a favor...leave your kids at home for this one, it's a special occasion place no one wants to hear your kids whining.
