“This is the place to stay!”
Reviewed 28 August 2012

Just returned from our second stay in Vert et Blanc, and for us it's the only place to stay. Wonderful welcoming hosts that do everything possible to make your stay a success. Has all the advantages of staying with knowledgeable, friendly, entertaining hosts, in the company of other guests, whilst feeling very much at home, with full use of the chalet and all its facilities including the well equipped kitchen and wonderful garden jacuzzi with views of Mont Blanc, lovely and refreshing in summer to relax in with a glass of wine after a day in the mountains. Marvellous breakfasts included and a very cuddly cat - what more could you want?

An outstanding chalet with warm n excellent hosts. Besids the view which is oustanding the facilities and the warmth of the place was appreciated. If we visit Chamonix again which we definately will, this is where we will definately be staying again.

Room Tip: comfortable and worth the price

The hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The chalet was modern, charming and clean. Our room had an amazing view to the mountains. We also had a bath in the bathroom, it was nice to have a relaxing bath after a long hike. The breakfast was very nice with a wide selection (croissants, pain au chocolat, eggs on toast, cereals...). The location was very good, outside the busiest area but within a reasonable walk to the village centre (around 20 minutes by foot). Overall the value for money was excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at Vert et Blanc. If trip advisor had a rating between average and very good, I would choose that.

Overall, it was very clean and pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. The price is appropriate.

The room was a little tiny and there was some mold in the shower/behind the sink. The croissants were sometimes a little crispy on the bottom and there were some flies around (a problem due to the lack of window screens in Europe).

David was very helpful with dinner reservations and activity suggestions.

We loved the walks into town along the river, but it takes about 15-20 minutes. If you are looking for a place very close to the pedestrian area, this is a little far, probably.

Overall, I would recommend this and would ask for a room on the front. For the price, it is good.

I stayed here a couple nights in July 2012 following a 7 day hike of Mont Blanc and really enjoyed it. It was the perfect, comfortable end to my Chamonix adventure.

The chalet is clean, modern and very close to the city centre. The breakfast is realy nice. David was very welcoming. I found the recommendations and guide book in our room very helpful for planning dinner and other local things to do.

I especially loved the spa and sauna.

Will definately return next time I'm in Chamonix.

Thanks David and Julie

I've visited chamonix on a number of occasions and I have to say this is the best place we stayed. We had a week B@B here. David made us very welcome from the beginning and recommend some great restaurants such as le Monchu and Munchies in town. It took us approx 15 -20 min to walk into town and was a lovely walk along the river. You can also catch the bus if you wished as the bus stop is directly outside the chalet.
Breakfast was full of variety including cereals, fresh eggs cooked as you wish, ham, cheese, croissants, yogurt and fruit.
It was a very relaxing place with a great decking area outside to relax on or the big comfy sofas inside.
Our room was lovely and clean with great views. My husband made use of the sauna and had an amazing sports massage (which he highly recommends)from the lovely Julie who works at the chalet most days.
There is also a lovely jacuzzi and we also had a great game of table tennis!! It's also a lovely place to meet other guests and swap ideas on things to do. We met some lovely people.
We would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in room 3 the pococke room which was a double room with shower and lovely views

We stayed here for four nights in June and really enjoyed it. The chalet is clean and the room had an amazing view to mont blanc. Breakfast was really nice especially as we got to meet fellow travelers and share our experiences and tips for the holidays. Would you believe that we met 2 other Aussie couples here too!

The location is perfect - far enough from the crowd but reachable on foot to get to the gondolas, shopping and dinners. Annecy is also reachable by car within an hour and we had an interesting drive up the steep mountains on the way back due to road works. The walk into town from the chalet was very pleasant with a river that ran along the path and surrounded by trees. It also meant that we could have some beers and wines for dinner and walk safely back home. We had also wanted to try the spa and massage but ran out of time.

David is a great host - laid back, friendly and knowledgable about the area. If you don't have a guide book, just ask David. You'd probably get the insider's tip as well. We went to Munchies for dinner the first night and kept going for another two nights. Thanks for the recommendation, David! This was amongst the best food we've had in France.
