This is the first 'chalet' style skiing holiday we have had, having perviously chosen hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and socialising with other guests over breakfast, dinner etc. Jackie and David are exceptional hosts and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are friendly, and the food is excellent. Conveniently located for all the ski areas in Chamonix, you would struggle to better this! If I could, I would give it 6 out of 5 !!

There is no way I can do this place justice with a written review. First, the chalet itself: amazing views of Mont Blanc, fantastic fresh breakfasts, a quick stroll along the canal into town, proximity to multiple gondolas to start your hikes, comfortable beds, great deck and hot tub, everything you could ask for for a relaxing vacation. But the real reasons why this place blows everything else away are the two owners, David and Jackie. They are two of the nicest and most helpful people I've encountered in my years of traveling, and know what it means to run a top notch chalet. I cannot emphasize how great this place is, you'd be making a big mistake staying anywhere else!!

Jackie and David are great hosts and welcomed us to their B&B, just a ten minute walk from the center of Chamonix, which worked well to settle the stomach after the great meals in town. Our room was simple and very comfortable, and looked out on Mont Blanc. Just be careful of the height of doorway to the bathroom if you are over 6' ft tall (which I am!). Delightful place, delightful owners. Perfect place to stay when in Chamonix.

This is the place you want to stay - trust us. why? ...
- Jackie and David hosted our wedding reception & dinner in Sept 09, and they are the most accomplished hosts you could ask for, you will want for nothing! (and it was their first wedding ...)
- The rooms are ALL incredible: we hired chalet vert et blanc exclusively for 5 days for 20 members of our family, and there is not a single 'bad' room - they all ooze character, have comfy beds, and excellent bathrooms.
- The food.... where to start... well, you may put on weight... we did. 5 star food all the way.
- The chalet is perfect for a big celebration, a more personal trip as a couple or small group - any combination of the above! We can't wait to go back....

My husband and I stayed with Jackie and David while hiking the French Alps. They were superb hosts. I almost don't want to many people to know about them, we plan to come back and ski with them soon. They were great at helping us plan our daily trips/meals and were really just a joy to be around. The chalet is great. It is about a 15 minute walk into Chamonix down a lovely, lightheaded wooded path and 5 minutes to Le Praz. The hot tub and honesty bar was really nice for when we finished with our daily activities. Definitely have them arrange a paragliding trip with Shawn. They also did some really nice things that I thought was over the top.... I am not going to comment on it specifically b/c I don't think they should be obligated to do it for everybody.. just know they are great to stay with and you will be pleased. The only thing they could add that would make this place perfect would be to have a computer for guest use. Presently there are internet cafes available in Chamonix.
Chamonix is a great town for outdoor adventure and Vert e Blanc is a really relaxing and cozy place to stay.

Vert e Blanc was spectacular.. A cute old house with lots of charm, updated with enough modern amenities to make it super relaxing.

Hot tub on deck? Check. Amazing view of the alps right out your window? Check. Sauna on site? Check. Fantastic food? Check. Amazingly friendly, helpful hosts? Check.

The only thing I can think of that might not be everyone's cup of tea is that they have a super cute, friendly cat named Angel, who has a fantastic personality. But I imagine that if you have bad cat allergies, her great personality won't make up for red puffy eyes.

The splendid accomodations of Vert et Blanc cannot be overstated. My wife and I settled on Chamonix as the final location of our honeymoon, and despite having spent time in London, Paris, and a winery of the Rhone Valley, our visit to Chamonix was the highpoint. However, this elation could not have been possible without staying with Jackie and David at Vert et Blanc. They have put their heart and soul into this chalet and it shows in every detail. The relaxing accomodations are wonderful and omnipresent. Aside from providing transport to guests from the train station and various locales in town, Jackie and David made all arrangements for adventure activities. In just three days, my wife and I were able to ride whitewater rapids, paraglide, and glacier hike, and all we had to do was tell Jackie and David what we wanted to do. They took care of making the calls, scheduling the events, making payment easy, and getting us where we needed to be. If you are visiting Chamonix, stay at Vert et Blanc, you won't regret it!
