Myself and my wife had noticed already a couple of times, strolling Chamonix walking area, the Oysters exhibited outside of this restaurant and having to wait friends on their way for dinner, we decided to enjoy an aperitif with Oysters and white wine there. First of all they could hardly speak any English word (surprising in a tourist city like Chamonix and for a venue right in the center of the city); we were then seated rudely in a table after them having tried to squeeze us in an impossible corner at the entry with blowing wind, provided cheap paper towels by a smelly waiter which could not explain any difference in price and quality of the offered Oysters. Finally we handled to order 12 oysters and a bottle of Puilly Fume. The place was almost empty at 7 PM of a Sunday evening in winter season, and this should have told us something! The Oysters were all dead (though we cannot honestly complain having been poisoned) and the bottle of wine was a very regular one available at Carrefour for 10 Euros. The bill came at 120 Euro that even for Chamonix is overpriced for an aperitif in such a rude place and with a smelly waiter. Suggest everyone to stay out until management won't change :).
