We travelled to Chamonix with our 14 year old daughter and stayed in a triple room in Hotel Le Chamonix. This is a no frills hotel, but not lacking in comfort with good beds. It is centrally located within easy walking distance of the train station, shops, restaurants and even the Mont Blanc cable way. Our room had ample place for suitcases, a spacious bathroom with separate toilet and a lovely view of Mont Blanc. The staff is very helpful with tips on restaurants and attractions. The only downside is the lack of an elevator, especially if you ask for the view which means you'll be up 5 flights of stairs! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are more than enough alternatives in the area. All in all very good value for money.

Room Tip: Top floor for the view, but only if you don't mind the stairs.

Hotel le Chamonix is in a great location, perfectly situated near the shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, ski hire, the ski school... Everything.

It's right near a beautiful old church which rings all day and is quite lovely.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely willing to help out with things you need advice on.

The hotel is average. Good showers which I'd suggest have been put in recently. Rooms are pokey and awkwardly laid out. Beds are okay. Bedding, okay but a bit old and worn, same with the towels. The hotel, especially in the foyer and the stairwell, smells faintly of sewage and stale food or drink... It's certainly more expensive than I would pay elsewhere but the alps are expensive and this place is way more reasonable than others we looked at.

Clean, nice and cozy hotel in the center of Chamonix town. Very simple breakfast (not worth paying €8 extra for it though), the rooms are small, but clean and the beds are comfortable. The family room is big enough for suitcases and they have a room for ski equipment in the basement. There is no elevator which can be a problem if you are staying on the top floor (like we did =) ). The personnel in reception was very friendly and willing to book a table in a very nice restaurant and giving tips on the skiing places.

We stayed here for two nights in late December. Spacious room with a balcony and great view of Mont Blanc. Lots of space to spread out gear. Great English speaking staff. Slightly dated room with paneling, but absolutely perfect. Would definitely stay again. Super value in a town that can be expensive. The location is just six minutes walk from the train station and in the middle of the historic town area.

I'm often in Chamonix for work and I've stayed here a couple of times. It's simply the best value hotel in Chamonix. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There's reliable wifi and the breakfast is good.

This hotel was recommended by a friend of mine and I was not disappointed. The location is great and the staff was exceptionally helpful. It was off season and there were limited shuttles from and to the airport in Geneva. The staff went out of their way to help me find transportation to Geneva. They even booked the transport with SAT online for me and when the website automatically changed the date to 3 days forward instead of the next day, she tried calling SAT to confirm my reservation. I was not charged for the 2nd night as I had to leave a day early. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend this as a first class budget hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a first or second floor as no elevator.

This hotel was booked by my G Adventures tour. The hotel is located in a very central location with easy access to restaurants and shops. Believe me, after a long hiking day, you just want to have dinner at somewhere close by. Like most of the smaller European hotels, it doesn't have an elevator. My room was located on the top floor. It was a bit difficult to carry my luggage all the way up but the good thing is that the room is relatively quiet. My room also has a great view of Mont Blanc and the glacier. The hotel offers breakfast for an additional 9 euros but there's a bakery close by as well if you want to grab something quick. There are also supermarkets near by if you want to grab some fruits and snacks. The hotel staff are really helpful and they speak English! Overall, I really like this place.

Room Tip: If you don't want to carry your luggage up four floors, ask for a room on the lower floors.
