We just returned from a week's ski-ing holiday with our niece and nephew, staying in one of their 3-bed apartments. I had booked it as the apartment looked fab on their website. Well, it way surpassed our expectations. Everything is beautifully appointed and equipped to a high quality. The open-plan lounge/dinning room is very spacious, and the log fire added much to the ambience. We weren't very successful in lighting it for the first two days, and Thierry (one of the hosts) very kindly sorted it out for us and we had a lovely fire every night, although we didn't really need it as it was so warm, it was still beautiful. The kitchen had everything you need to cook with, plus more - such as a juicer, an expresso machine ( in addition to a coffee maker) and a raclette. There is even a salad spinner (which we used to store our bread).

The bedrooms were reasonably sized but with plenty of storage/wardrobe space. The ensuite shower rooms are a bit small but there is a very spacious family bathroom, with a large walk-in shower, a large bath and the sauna. The sauna was a god send after a "hard" day ski-ing.

The lounge opened onto a large balcony with views over Mont Blanc. We didn't sit outside on this occasion as we were very busy with other things. But it's certainly something one should make use off apres ski.

The apartment is ideally situated in the town centre, with a supermarket literally next door, and all the bars/restaurants within 5 minutes walk. It is a bit far from the bus station (see below comment).

Another reason why I booked this apartment is the fact that the accommodation came complete with a van and driver to the ski-resorts which was extremely useful. However, when we arrived, and to my consternation, we were informed that they go to all the ski stations except La Tour, where I had booked ski-lessons for my niece and nephew there for the first three days. Luckily, and thankfully, they were obliging enough to take us there or our perfect holiday would have been very much dampened by the bus journeys (yes this was absolutely hell)!

I think they should include La Tour in their list of resorts as it is the largest of all the Chamonix ski areas, and it's perfect for family. It's not really that far, being only twenty minutes from the centre. Even offering lifts to the bus stop would be helpful as it is a hike from the bus station to the apartment.

Only one other negative - we could not get any english channels. There were plenty of french and german channels but no english. Luckily we had a few videos for our evening entertainment. Maybe this is a reflection of their clientele?

All in all, we had a brilliant time there and are already planning to return next year for our annual ski-trip. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Get an apartment with a hot tub if you can.

My wife and I recently spent 4 nights in the Les Ecrins 1 bedroom apartment (they have other larger apartments as well). Everything in the apartment is first rate from the quality of the furnishings and the spaciousness through to the classy bathroom, sauna, separate laundry and designer kitchen. The apartment has a large balcony and wonderful views over the mountains. Although it has all the benefits of being right in the town so that you have ready access to bars, restaurants and shops, it was very quiet inside. The owners, who are two brothers (Patrick and Thierry), were always on hand to offer advice and assistance and to make sure everything was running smoothly. Their driver, Phillipe, will take you anywhere you want to ski and pick you up again at the end of the day. All in all, a real find and thoroughly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2011. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment which was lovely, a perfect place to relax! It was cleaned every day. We were usually out and about before the cleaner came so it was never an issue for us. Nice touches with the provisions provided in the kitchen. Good quality equipment, my husband fell in love with the coffee maker!!! The owner was very helpful and accomodating allowing us to check in early and check out late. An added bonus on the busy streets was the complimentery, secure onsite parking. Would we recommend staying here?? Yes we most definately would.

We stayed one week in the three bedroom apartment and it was heaven. Before we arrived the staff checked in on when we expected to arrive but were able to meet us before then as the trip from Germany took less time than expected.

The quality of the apartment and furnishings is as good as it appears on their website. The bedrooms were very well furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals during the week. The stand-out for us was the open fireplace which really added to the warmth and ambience of our stay. Wood and kindling is replenished each day which takes all the hard work out of having a fire.

The apartments also have large balconies facing Mt Blanc which was a beautiful view. Be aware there is train track that runs behind the apartments which could be heard but did not bother us as the hours of service seemed civil. There are also shops under the apartments which were a mixed blessing - very advantageous to buy supplies, but sometimes the setting up of the fruit stands in the morning seemed a little early.... One small negative was that the room servicing was a little haphazard with fresh towels some days and on another day, one towel was not replaced even though it was taken.

The two brothers that own and manage the apartments we're lovely and very helpful. They allowed us to bring our dog which was great.

Overall, we loved these apartments and would happily return.

I stayed at "Les Ecrins de Soulane" in August 2009.
I must simply say that it was one of the best accomodation I've ever stayed in.
The residence is a real five star accomodation. Every detail is gourgeous.
The buliding is new, as well as the apartments. The equipment of the apartment is really of luxury standing and in some apartments (we got it!) you can even find a Jacuzzi (up to 4/6 people)on the outside terrace.
It's simply marvellous, there are no many words to describe it! Lcd flat screen, digital sorround radio, wi-fi connection: all the best technology you could imagine. The kitchen was better than the one I own!
You even find a sauna box in you apartment, very nice.
The manager of the residence is very helpful and kind. I really appreciated his help for everything.
The location of the building is right in the centre of Chamonix, in the pedestrian area. There is a confortable garage (with remote control, you don't even need to get off your car...).
On the other hand, it's quite expensive. But you really get a five star (even more if possible) accomodation.
