We just returned from a week's ski-ing holiday with our niece and nephew, staying in one of their 3-bed apartments. I had booked it as the apartment looked fab on their website. Well, it way surpassed our expectations. Everything is beautifully appointed and equipped to a high quality. The open-plan lounge/dinning room is very spacious, and the log fire added much to the ambience. We weren't very successful in lighting it for the first two days, and Thierry (one of the hosts) very kindly sorted it out for us and we had a lovely fire every night, although we didn't really need it as it was so warm, it was still beautiful. The kitchen had everything you need to cook with, plus more - such as a juicer, an expresso machine ( in addition to a coffee maker) and a raclette. There is even a salad spinner (which we used to store our bread).
The bedrooms were reasonably sized but with plenty of storage/wardrobe space. The ensuite shower rooms are a bit small but there is a very spacious family bathroom, with a large walk-in shower, a large bath and the sauna. The sauna was a god send after a "hard" day ski-ing.
The lounge opened onto a large balcony with views over Mont Blanc. We didn't sit outside on this occasion as we were very busy with other things. But it's certainly something one should make use off apres ski.
The apartment is ideally situated in the town centre, with a supermarket literally next door, and all the bars/restaurants within 5 minutes walk. It is a bit far from the bus station (see below comment).
Another reason why I booked this apartment is the fact that the accommodation came complete with a van and driver to the ski-resorts which was extremely useful. However, when we arrived, and to my consternation, we were informed that they go to all the ski stations except La Tour, where I had booked ski-lessons for my niece and nephew there for the first three days. Luckily, and thankfully, they were obliging enough to take us there or our perfect holiday would have been very much dampened by the bus journeys (yes this was absolutely hell)!
I think they should include La Tour in their list of resorts as it is the largest of all the Chamonix ski areas, and it's perfect for family. It's not really that far, being only twenty minutes from the centre. Even offering lifts to the bus stop would be helpful as it is a hike from the bus station to the apartment.
Only one other negative - we could not get any english channels. There were plenty of french and german channels but no english. Luckily we had a few videos for our evening entertainment. Maybe this is a reflection of their clientele?
All in all, we had a brilliant time there and are already planning to return next year for our annual ski-trip. Highly recommended.
