Stayed 20 - 27 December. Lovely welcome. Clean, well furnished, comfortable, modern room, which was spotlessly clean ( superior room, new wing). Food was first class and service excellent. Varied menu with a good choice. Half board was very good value. Ski bus stop outside door was a major plus as we were in Chamonix for a ski holiday. Family were welcomed to join us for a meal in the evening. Hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a superior room

The hotel is just outside of Chamonix center - about a 5 minute drive - in Les Praz. It's extrenely quiet compared to being in Chamonix, which is not necessarily a bad thing. If you're coming to Chamonix to ski, there is the Flegere lift within walking distance which take you to one of the major ski areas, but the others are all fairly close (not walkable.) We felt having a car was an easy way to get to all the areas, but the buses connect you as well.

At Les Lanchers we had a standard room with 1/2 board (breakfast and dinner) which is a very good value. The standard room is small, and the bathroom even smaller (don't try to move while taking a shower!) and offers a decent bed. I imagine the superior rooms are larger and a little more accommodating and we would opt for one of those on the next round when we come back.

The food at the restaurant was very good. Dinner varied each night, and was solid french cooking. The bar is a nice hangout area especially after unwinding after a day skiing. The wifi in the hotel was hit or miss, which was a little annoying. Where Les Lancers excels though is the extremely friendly and helpful staff, and as one of the better values in the areas. Everyone who worked there were lovely and we enjoyed the hospitality immensely.

Room Tip: Try one of the superior rooms for more space and updated interiors.

Exceptional hotel with great people. Clean rooms with perfect wifi. Breakfast was a real treat with baked goods and fresh fruit. Dinner was a different experience all together. The chef was unreal with each specific plate. Pricing is reasonable to the quality of the meal. Honestly, pricing could be much higher because this is a five star quality establishment. Distance to town is a 15 minute walk. Enjoy the experience and the views from the area. Will be coming back for sure.

Wonderful hotel! Breathtaking view of the Alps from our room window. Nice, clean, and comfortable room. Warm and friendly staff. Nice hotel restaurant with a very friendly waitress (who speaks amazingly good English). Its location, away from the main part of Chamonix in the Les Praz section of town, was perfect -- quiet and manageable, within a 15-20 minute walk to the main part of town. There is free parking adjacent to the building, and the wifi internet worked well. We would highly recommend it.

A lovely hotel, twenty minutes walk from Chamonix. Staff and owners are extremely helpful and friendly.Nothing too much trouble. Nice restaurant with superb views of the Drus and Aiguille du Midi, we ate there most nights, much better than some of the restaurants in Chamonix. Some beautiful valley walks right from the doorstep. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Brilliant!

After years at staying in the nearby Hotel Eden, which we were told had completely gone downhill, and how right they were - see my review - we stayed in Les Lanchers for the first time this year.

The place is under English ownership but is run on french lines so you feel like you're getting a different cultural experience, which is great.

A lot of money has been invested in the hotel in the past couple of years with a new wing of very comfortable rooms , that have all mod cons, my only complaint being the typically small single beds that seem to pervade french apline resorts.

Public areas are comfortable rather than luxurious with a good value bar. Great breakfast, dinner though is honest as opposed to fine dining, but excellent value, so providing you're not expecting a gourmet experience you'll be well satisfied. Wine list also very good value.

Lovely owners and staff who really looked after us.

Other points: great location out of town in Les Praz, which is the most exclusive part of Chamonix but very close to Flegere lift and the golf course. Great drying room for wet golf and skiing equipement. Older rooms to the front of the hotel to be fully refurbished in the next 12 months. Great value for money.

We have already booked for next year, which says it all !

Room Tip: Some of the rooms in the new wing have sunny terraces, with stunning views of the Aiguille Drus and...
