Stayed here for 1 night before venturing into Italy. The location is 4km away from Chamonix town but we drove so it was ok. The rates are reasonable which included free parking and wifi. Did not take the breakfast option as we drove to Chamonix town for brunch. The room was pretty spacious, with sofa bed and office table. The only drawback is the highway outside the hotel which is also the entrance to Mt Blanc tunnel, so there was a jam when heading out. Overall, good value for 1 night stay.

I like the design and concept of the check-in lobby, fireplace lounge, bar and breakfast dining area being open and connected ski lodge style. Breakfast selection is vast and the crepe and omelet cook is a nice bonus sometimes left out of other hotels with this rating. Dinner has a similarly large buffet spread with a theme (Spanish, Savoie, northern Italian, etc.) and quality was above average.

Spa facilities measure up even if the jacuzzi is set at 35C which is only slightly warmer than the pool. Yes, the Mercure les Bossons is well outside Chamonix village, but bus access is required for any of the ski areas which are not closest to a particular hotel regardless of where one stays. The scheduled and fairly reliable bus stops directly behind the hotel which is no more than a 200m walk. If, however, you plan to ski Grand Montets every day while relying on public transport and a forty minute commute to start your day irks you, look elsewhere. There is a large outdoor parking lot with easy access and if you choose to use a car the parking lot at the base of each ski area is free. This would cut your GM commute to twenty minutes. Only Le Tour is farther away.

If I could split stars it would be a 3.5 but the staff were friendly and overall service was solid enough to push in a positive direction.

Average size room, clean and functional. Poor heating, room was very cold.
Food was good quality, as was breakfast buffet.
Out of the way of the ski resorts, so travel needed.

We stumbled upon this hotel driving through Chamonix in the middle of the night when we needed a place to stay. Everything was completely adequate for the price, and the service was great. The staff were able to accommodate us and our two cats, waving the extra fee usually charged for the cats. Also, they allowed us to check out late free of charge. Karima, and Vincent (I apologize if I misspelled the names) were extremely helpful. The location is a bit strange though, and it is hard to find from the main road. Fantastic views of Mont Blanc.
