Stayed here on business recently- nice hotel, well appointed, not cheap. Pity about the staffing- very por in the bar in the evening- combining demands from a busy restaurant and bar orders is never a good idea with one barman only- nobody is happy!
The restaurant on tis particular evening was struggling to cope with two large coach parties- despite having a reservaton we could see that it had been over booked- crowded, noisy, over hot and poorly served- we went out- there are many options in Chamonix- Mercure- beware!
Breakfast was even worse- two coach parties had obviously descended like biblical locusts- not really an issue if there was any management or staffing- neither, so when we arrived it was like a war zone- no table was clear or re- set and the scraps were left unreplenised.
Chamonix is not a cheap resort- there is much choice- the Mercire has to realise this and step up!
