“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

Just got back from a 6 day ski holiday with a friend staying at the Auberge du Manoir. GREAT location, really close to the main ski bus stops and the town centre. The owners were so helpful, booking restaurants for us and even giving us the ski forecast each morning. Breakfast was really fresh and more food than we could eat. The front room was really comfortable with a lovely big fireplace. Our room was perfect, great shower (you can tell it's just all been refurbished and they've done a really good job), beds comfortable, everything really clean and fresh and while near a main road it was really quiet. Room was perfect for two friends sharing - didn't feel on top of each other. I've stayed in some pretty grim so called 3 star ski hotels and this couldn't be further from that - I would stay there again anytime.

Room Tip: Only saw our room - number 6 but it was in a corner having two windows and a balcony and was totally...

Spent three nights to hike and enjoy the Alps. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. Very close to the main streets in Chamonix - and staff was incredibly accommodating. I didn't have the breakfast (preferred to walk a block and get a croissant/coffee). The first night I was there, the hotel had hosted a free jazz night as part of the jazz festival. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel.

This is a charming family run hotel close to the centre of Chamonix. The rooms are very comfortable, decorated in a beautiful alpine style. They have various types of rooms, some with beautiful views of Mont Blanc. The beds are super comfortable with crisp white linen and duvets in winter. A wonderful place to come back to after a chilly day n the slopes!

I was in Chamonix for the 2010/11 new Year's, and spent 4 nights in the Manoir.
It was a very pleasant stay. It is a small hotel, with no luxuries at all, but very comfortable and well decorated. The rooms are exactly what you need in terms of comfort after a day in the snow, and the small balcony in the rooms is a charm for the spring time.
The Hotel is well located, since Chamonix is not that big, it is a few minute walk from everywhere you may wanna go.
The breakfast is ok, not a whole multitude of choices, but enough to give you the energy you need for a day practicing snowboard.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving you directions and advice on everything you need, and always with a smile on their faces.

Overall, I think this one deserves an 4 out of 5.

Ours was an Autumnal trip with Val d'Aosta as our destination. After the long drive from the UK I always like to stop a night and forget about the car for a day, so we chose Chamonix. Because of the drink/drive situation I either like to stay in a hotel with a decent enough restaurant or at one where I can easily walk to local restaurants, The Auberge du Manoir has no restaurant (but serves an unsophisticated but lovely breakfast) but is just on the very edge of the pedestran area of Chamonix, so that was fine. And also importantly it has parking.

Choosing a hotel in such a location means one probably has to sacrifice the sort of views one would expect if staying somewhere out of town. It's horses for courses. This hotel, in fact, looks out onto the main road into Chamonix - not that it need bother you because the double glazing was tottaly effective at blocking out any noise.

And, so important in a small hotel - or any hotel for that matter - is the friendliness of the owners. Here they are a most delightful couple and should we find ourselves in Chamonix again we would most certainly stay there.

We stayed here for a skiing weekend in March 2011. The accommodation is conveniently located if you are travelling by car and is a short walk to the town centre. Bit of a trek to lifts and a fair amount of time on ski buses but that is really just a reflection of the spread-out nature of the resort.
Clean, attractive accommodation, a spacious room, good breakfast and a good storage locker for ski kit.
Would happily return.

We stayed in this hotel for a weekend and we loved it. Every single detail is romantic and well thought, from the animal metal silhouette in the garden to the beautiful decorations of the room. Ours was supposed to be the attic but for internal reasons they upgraded it to a mini suite. Charming!! So we had a fantastic room, the one in all the hotel website pictures, with a big and comfortable bathroom (really big shower with massaging showerhead), really good mattresses and.....a marvellous view on the Mont Blanc! You can't imagine what that is at dawn!
For the first morning we had breakfast, rich and diversified, with cakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese etc.etc. We didn't have it the second morning just because it was a little too expensive for us (13 euro each).
The manager/ owner (we are not sure) are really nice and helpful, ready to suggest restaurant and to give info about the activities in the area, especially the man (i think Frederique) with whom we joked about my inexistent french!
I didn't give it 5 points for location just beacuse it's really close to a street exiting the town and with the windows open you can hear it. But the hitel is also at a 2 minute walk from the city centre...so it is well located.
