“Beautiful clear lake, very busy even in Sept”

Beautiful clear lake. We did the walk from the Flegere lift and walked up to it via Lac Chesserys and it was a pretty tough final climb (literally - there is a ladder bolted to the rock face) to the Lac Blanc. Was it worth it? Definitely, despite the large crowds. Lac Chesserys was just as beautiful, if smaller and my husband enjoyed his chilly swim.

“Nice lake, nice hike to get there”

paths over there are fine for just about anyone :-) Just a bit of stamina will get you there and you can take a cablecar part of the way up

“Beautiful, but beware it's quite a hike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2013

We went to Lac Blanc as part of the final stages of Tour de Mont Blanc, so we climbed up the ladders from Argentiere. If you're not good with heights, think twice about this route. But the Lac Blanc is absolutely stunning glacial lake with a great Refuge right on it's shore where you can get a good lunch or cake and coffee. We then walked down to Flegere, which is where the day crowds were coming from (having got the lift up), but personally I thought this was a much tougher hike, all up hill, for much longer. Be mindful if you're taking young children, this is not an easy stroll so go early, and take snacks and drinks!

“So worth the strenuous hike to find the Lac Blanc”

Great view. We did all our hiking very early in the morning (on the lifts by 8:00am) to beat the summer crowds.

“Trekking with kids is a nice adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013 via mobile

We took our 6.5yo girl to this track & our 2.5yo was sitting on my back.
From Flegere telepherique we choose to go further up with the Index telesiege. It reaches almost the same altitude of Le Lac Blanc - 2400m. From there the track goes down and up and down and a final very steep up to the lakes. It took us 1h:45min.
Scenery is magnificent . After a nice Mertillie Tarte & hot Coco on the terasse, we started the long way down to the Flegere telepherique . It took us 3h to get there.
The trail was difficult for our 6.5yo girl. It has some tricky passages , that might be dangerous.
All in all we enjoyed it very much.
