“Best chalet hotel holiday ever.”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Just back from a weeks holiday to Chamonix and stayed in this hotel. Tommy and his staff were first class nothing was a bother to them from taking our suitcases up to our room on arrival to giving out info about what's happening in the town. There's we dram Dan the barman probably the happiest barman in the world and the lovely girls who done a great job at dinner and kept the rooms spotless. thanks again and we will be back to see you again sometime soon.

Have just recently returned from a weeks skiing holiday staying at this Inghams chalet holiday. We had a lovely time. Staff really are excellent in all aspects - courteous, polite, respectful, friendly and good fun. The food is excellent and the sous chef amazing. We stayed in room 36 which had beautiful views over Mont Blanc. We were on the 1st floor close to the boot room and lift but it did not keep us awake as others have commented. We had a bath which is a must for skiing. Except for the first night when we got back late and there was no hot water after that we always made sure we showered/bathed as soon as we came in. Our biggest downfall with Chamonix was the length of time it took to walk and catch buses to travel to the 4 different ski areas that link Chamonix it took about an hour or more. Buses were overcrowded and you end up standing and exhausted. Taxi 's were impossible. I would like to suggest to Inghams to put on a mini bus or two and make a charge. People tend to leave for skiing at different times and having stayed previously in small hotels that provide this service it would make all the difference and then might encourage me to return. We took the option and paid to ski on the last day with Luke the resort manager in Courmeyer in Italy. Well worth it and highly recommended we had a super day and met some lovely people. The Sapiniere is in a good location and walking distance into Chamonix which is a beautiful village.

Stayed in the hotel last week for a skiing holiday in the Chamonix area. However, on the first day i fell and injured my shoulder, and couldn't ski for the rest of the week! The hotel staff were excellent during my stay and were really helpful in advising me on thing to do while the rest of my group were skiing during the day!
The rooms were clean and comfortable with excellent views. Although basic, they were ideal for our needs.
The food was excellent, like eating in a top restaurant every night. Breakfast was also excellent with lots of choice. We also had afternoon tea, again the food was superb with homemade cakes, bread and soup.
Couldn't fault the hotel or staff at all. Would stay again without hesitation - highly recommended

I stayed at Sapiniere for a week from 22 Feb 2014. I was part of a group of 12 and we were very well looked after. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and always willing to help. It was nice to see smiley staff who seemed genuinely pleased to be helping make your holiday better. The hotel is located right on the nursery slopes meaning that there is ski-in/out access to the Brevent and Flegere ski area - a luxury that is very hard to find in Chamonix. The rooms in the hotel are spacious and the beds were comfy and our room had an excellent view out over the nursery slopes. The food at the hotel is excellent and was a real highlight of the week. The choice for the evening meals was always varied and interesting and the food itself was delicious - you could tell that real pride had been taken to ensure that the quality was on the highest standard.

Overall we had an excellent week and Sapiniere was a great place to stay. I would happily recommend it to anyone who was heading out to Chamonix.

We used Inghams at New year at Morzine in Chalet Nomis. After staying there, we vowed we would never go again with Inghams as the service of both the chalet host and the rep for the area was dire!! We had, however booked another holiday before we went and discovered that it was through Inghams... we were not expecting much having paid alot more for the private use of a chalet at such a special time of year. I am so pleased that we had such a fabulous time at Chalet Sapiniere I filled up with tears as we were getting on the coach and the entire staff from management to potwash have restored our faith in Inghams & Chamonix! We couldn't have been better taken care of !

The rooms and public areas were clean, even if a bit 'shabby chic'. May be in need of a little 'revamp' in parts. :-)The staff made the best of what I would term as an 'original building'. The staff were always attentive and Helen especially was very helpful and an excellent host. It was pleasant to notice that management were always very well dressed and were a visible presence throughout the day and especially at service times.

The food was excellent, The chalet that we had during New year had a chalet host who clearly was 'green behind the ears' with her ability to cook and provide enough food for 8 adults whether at breakfast or evening meal. At the Sapiniere food was abundant and was well prepared and tasted fabulous. The young hotel assistants that served us, Beth, Kirstie and James and Charlotte were also great, helpful and polite and has obviously been well inducted.

As for the skiing, well Balme/Le tour is fabulous but the Ski and village information given by Jacinta from Evolution was invaluable, as was that given by Helen, Gareth and other staff members. Such a valuable information service that we hadn't previously received when staying numerous times in the private chalets in France previously booked with Inghams or Ski Total.

The problem that I now have is if I recommend this to my friends and relatives wold they get the same service next year??? The answer...... Yes probably, but if only Inghams could guarantee that the staff remained! It's a pity that they are not a big family at that hotel so that they could remain.:)
Good luck to all the staff at the Chalet Sapiniere for the rest of the season and somebody in your company should thank you for working so hard to ensure that yur gueasts regardless of age are well looked after oh and for changing my mind about Inghams as I am the one who books the holidays!!!!!

Room Tip: If you are in a group of two couples try and book rooms 2 and three. they have fabulous views of Mt...

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel.
We'd had a long wait at Geneva as Inghams pre-departure information was poor and when we found the rep we got incomplete information again. So arriving at the hotel to an empty desk and nobody able to answer simple questions like "where is the ski-hire shop", we were frustrated and prepared for the worst.
But then staff arrived, helped us out and things looked up.
Yes, other reviewers are right that it could do with a little tlc, and our room (19) was tired, but the bathroom (with a bath) was new and large with a separate WC. The bedroom was huge too, with loads of storage, a great view and balcony.
The staff tried really hard and were cheerful and helpful with everything from special diets to bus routes. They were brilliant.
The food was first class. There was (limited) choice and it was beautifully presented and delicious.
The only negative is that our room was over the dining room and early morning noise will wake light sleepers, but our friends in room17 had no problem.
It's tough to remember that this is a 3-star chalet hotel. It exceeded every expectation.
If only the rest of Inghams was as good!

Stayed here from 15 Feb 2014 to 22 Feb 2014
Can't really fault anything. All the staff are amazing, always very cheerful, nothing is every too much trouble. The food is superb, always 3 choices for dinner and will cater for special diets if required. The bedrooms are very spacious and clean (We were in room No 27 which had superb views of the nursery slopes and a balcony) The location is great too, there is a bus stop just outside the hotel that has buses every 15 mins taking you to the slopes, some areas require you to change bus. We took the optional trip to Courmayeur Italy for a days skiing which was excellent, Gareth the Inghams rep organised this and came with us for the day, he was great throughout the week.

Room Tip: Room 27 has fabulous views and is very comfortable and has plenty of places to hang and store things...
