My wife and I just visited Chamonix and stayed four nights in Hotel Le Faucigny. Like most Americans, we can't speak French. But that didn't matter. The hotel staff helped us with reservations, gave tips on which mountains to ski, how to get there (important if you plan to ski at Courmayeur), where to eat, and much more. I was impressed with how proactive the staff was. I watched them over and over again solve problems for the guests that they could easily have ignored.

The rooms are small, but you won't be in them often. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are adequate. The hotel has a spa, which we didn't use, but it looks quite nice.

Breakfast is good. and they've got the most unbelievable cookies and other treats at tea time. We met a number of people through the lobby and common area and had a blast in general. My wife and I will be back.

Room Tip: I'd suggest a room on the second (top) floor if you're a light sleeper. When folks walk arou...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Le Faucigny for a week in January and it couldn't have been better! The hotel was in the perfect location, walking distance to the main shopping area and restaurants. Easy access to the nearest ski slope and not far from the bus stop for the other ski areas.

The hotel lobby is beautiful with an cool modern feel and there is always someone there to help you. The staff were fantastic and more than happy to help with any booking or recommendation at any time. And if you had to wait a few minutes you were always offered a free espresso! Sweet!

The included breakfast was delicious and so well presented, again the espresso was plentiful! The included afternoon tea or 'canapes' was very welcome after a long day on the slopes to keep you going until dinner.

The rooms were very well presented and modern. They are not overly spacious but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The bathroom is compact but fine, just bring your own hairdryer as the ones throughout Europe are terrible! The spa in the basement is very nice and large jacuzzi is great for sharing with others and not feeling like you are on top of them!

All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and if we went back we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! THanks to all the staff for making our stay so great.

Vicky

We were Visiting my son in Chamonix. The hotel Faucigny was our choice! On arrival we realised its location was ideal. We were upgraded to a superior room which was lovely. Especially compared to the size of normal rooms in French resorts!! Only complaint would be early morning noises from adjacent room, but overall we would definitely return. Location, location and friendly!!!

This is a superb hotel perfect for a week of activity in Chamonix. The breakfast sticks in my mind as well thought out, tasty and plentiful. The interior is very clean and unfussy with lots of interesting and well thought out features. The staff are super polite and friendly, they have us lots of help and advice and were super efficient. Only negative was a small room however it was well laid out with a great en suite and plenty of cupboard space. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed in the Alps.

Stayed in this hotel during January holidays(5 nights). The price was nearly 300euro per night for a 3 star hotel! You can find much better places in chamonix and much cheaper. Our superior room(the best room as they told to us) was just the room with the bed. It doesn't have even the fridge. The shower is just the hole in the middle of the bathroom. The ceiling lamp wasn't working during our whole stay! They tried to fix it but just gave up ...... The personnel don't want to help at all, when we asked for thermometer -they told us to go to the pharmacy and buy it. We went to the nearby hotel and they gave as thermometer and some medicine for free! The spa zone means just sauna and jacuzzi Breakfast is just ok with disgusting coffee. Parking is small and you can't reserve the place, so all locals just park their cars there. Location is the only advantage. We have been in many places in the alps and this was the worst.

Room Tip: "Superior" room is just the name. Other rooms are even worser

I booked 3 rooms and just spent 6 nights here with my teenage children and loved it. It is a 2min walk to everywhere, perfectly located. Perfect position. Recently renovated the hotel is very comfortable, breakfast is well worth the 12euro charge per person and the hotel provides complimentary afternoon tea which is nice to have a hot chocolate and play a game of uno etc. Wifi is complimentary but a little sketchy in places. The girls on front desk are very helpful in organizing dinner reservations, ski passes, ski hire and massages etc. Would have liked a bar fridge in room but made do. Would definitely recommend this hotel!!

Room Tip: Room 20 has direct access to the outside of the hotel and snow, however all rooms were good. Also as...

My family and I stayed at Hotel le Faucigny because it appeared to be in a good location and it was one of the few hotels that had room for 7 people in 3 rooms with very little advance notice. We were all extremely surprised at the quality of this hotel. The service was impeccable. Every staff member went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The rooms are small, but that it typical in Europe. But there is a nice dining area where we brought in food for dinner (only breakfast is served at the hotel) and spent time relaxing. The location of the hotel was right in the heart of Chamonix village and a short walk to all of the ski buses and a short hike to the Brevent ski area. We even had a friend who lives in Chamonix stop by and tell us how impressed she was with this hotel. If you're looking for a cozy place in a great location with fabulous service, Hotel le Faucigny is the place foryou.

Room Tip: the rooms were quiet but small. Ask about the size of the beds and the bathroom before you book.
